On 6 Mar 11 Sgt. Thorpe and Deputy Sheriff Schubert responded to a domestic dispute at 108 Seneca Drive, Marietta. From outside the home the Deputies heard yelling and arguing. Once inside the residence the Deputies noticed Steven Hupp, age 40, had a number of cuts and scratches on his chest, face and head. Mr. Hupp said he was involved in an argument with his live-in girlfriend Georgie Smith, age 45, and that he suffered his injuries when he struck a table when Ms. Smith shoved him to the floor. When questioned, Ms. Smith stated the two were arguing about money and at one point Mr. Hupp held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. Ms. Smith was holding her side and also commented that Mr. Hupp may have broken her ribs. Based on their investigation, Deputy Travaglio arrested Mr. Hupp for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
