Archive of 02-19-11

On 19 Feb 11 Sgt. Norman and the Barlow Fire Department were dispatched to a brush fire that spread to a mobile home owned by Randall K. Barton, age 58, at 480 Walsh Road in Vincent. Two individuals on an adjacent property were using a torch to cut the boom off a bucket truck to sell for scrap when errant sparks ignited grass. The men attempted to extinguish the fire before it spread but were unsuccessful. Mr. Barton and the other occupants of the home escaped without injury. The fire could not be extinguished before it engulfed the home.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Brian Denver Hess, age 35, 288 Ridgewood Court Apt. E, Marietta, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Hess was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Feb 11 at 8:00 am.

Jason Lee Scarbrough, age 26, 102 Lancaster Street, Marietta, for domestic violence, a felony. Scarbrough was arrested at 416 Franklin Street by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Feb 11 at 6:13 pm.

Clair Allen Hendershot, age 51, 102 Fourth Street, Belpre, for disorderly conduct and possession of drugs, both misdemeanors. Hendershot was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Feb 11 at 7:30 pm.
