On 3 Jan 11 Deputy Sheriff Anderson responded to a resident in Marietta where a caller reported his forty-four year old wife attempted to take her own life. Transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment, the victim reportedly consumed a bottle of vodka and ingested twenty valium pills. The victim is expected to recover fully.

On 3 Jan 11 Brandon Haas, age 20, 102 Creston Lane, Marietta, reported an iPod Touch was stolen from his unlocked vehicle three or four weeks ago. Mr. Hass stated he did not initially report the theft but obtained new information he thought would be helpful to the investigation. This case remains under investigation (208).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Carl Edward Dearth, age 61, 425 Old River Road, Little Hocking, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Dearth was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jan 11 at 12:20 pm.

Ali Rae Martin, age 21, 101 Stonecrest Drive, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines and for two counts of failure to appear, all misdemeanors. Martin was arrested at her residence by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jan 11 at 3:45 pm.
