Archive of 12-30-10

On 30 Dec 10 Victor G. Smith, age 63, 750 Smith Road, Waterford, reported at some point during the past few days an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole three shotguns, a rifle and several boxes of shotgun shells. This case remains under investigation (1104).

On 30 Dec 10 Deputy Sheriff Schubert arrested Misty Dawn Slider, age 30, 11820 State Route 821, Lower Salem, for two counts of child endangering. An anonymous caller reported that Ms. Slider was at a local bar and left her two year old and six year old children unattended at her residence. At Ms. Slider’s residence Deputy Schubert discovered the two children sleeping in a bedroom and found no adults present. When Ms. Slider returned to her residence at the request of Deputy Schubert, she appeared highly intoxicated and admitted consuming several beers as well as the prescription drug clonazepam.

On 30 Dec 10 Randy Buck, age 46, 1113 Smithfield Street, Parkersburg, reported when he visited property he owns at 1183 Goddard Road, Cutler, discovered a section where an unknown suspect(s) cut the barbwire fence. Mr. Buck also stated an unknown individual put a padlock on a gate where he already had a lock in place. This case remains under investigation (805).

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR KIDNAPPING AND AGGRAVATED BURGLARY

At 9:00 am on 30 Dec 10 Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of State Route 124 and US 50 in Belpre Township to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a traffic crash. The suspect in the traffic crash, later identified as Leroy A. Tucker, age 20, 30 Ohio Avenue, The Plains, OH fled on foot and attempted to commandeer two different vehicles from passing motorist’s acting as if he had a gun concealed in his jacket.

Tucker fled from the scene and entered the unlocked residence of Patricia Stutler, 721 River Road, Little Hocking, and armed himself with a knife from her kitchen. Stutler engaged Tucker in a wrestling match and managed to get the knife away from him. Tucker left this residence and forced himself into the nearby residence of Ashley Vincent, 713 Old River Road, Little Hocking. Once inside Ms. Vincent’s residence, Tucker again armed himself with a kitchen knife and locked the door.

Tucker refused to let Ms. Vincent leave the residence even after repeated requests. A short standoff ensued but ended peacefully when Tucker exited the residence and surrendered without incident. Tucker confessed to the above incidents and was transported to the Washington County Jail where he remains incarcerated in lieu of bond pending an appearance in Marietta Municipal Court.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Nathaniel Vaughn Chandler, age 20, 1252 Edwards Lane, Zanesville, for .02 breath OVI, for underage consumption of alcohol and for failure to obey a traffic control device, all misdemeanors. Chandler was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 10 at 4:00 am.

Jennifer Lynne Jones, age 38, 1201 Poplar Street, Belpre, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Jones was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Fields of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 10 at 4:05 am.

Shaboheam L. Richardson, age 19, 1019 Main Street, Zanesville, for carrying a concealed weapon, a felony. Richardson was arrested on Fifth Street by Patrolman Freed of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 10 at 5:11 am.

Lee Roy Walker, age 30, 117 Acme Street, Marietta, for domestic violence, a felony. Walker was arrested on Phillips Street by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 10 at 6:01 am.

Vickie Marie Thompson, age 28, 300 Starlite Drive Lot 40, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Thompson was arrested at 401 Lancaster Street by Patrolman Walters of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 10 at 10:00 am.

Robert Kenneth Sanders Jr., age 19, 815 16th Street, Parkersburg, for possession of drugs and for contempt of a court order, both misdemeanors. Sanders was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 10 at 10:41 am.

Leroy Ashley Tucker, age 20, 30 Ohio Avenue, The Plains, for kidnapping and for two counts of aggravated burglary, all felonies. Tucker was arrested in Little Hocking by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 10 at 12:06 pm.

Travis Lee Chadwick, age 32, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 2C, New Matamoras, for failure to appear to register as a sex offender, a felony. Chadwick was arrested in New Matamoras by Patrolman Spiker of the New Matamoras Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 10 at 11:40 pm.

Misty Dawn Slider, age 30, 11820 State Route 821, Lower Salem, for violating the terms of his probation and for two counts of child endangering, all misdemeanors. Slider was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Schubert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 10 at 1:00 am.
