On 4 Dec 10 Deputy Sheriff Mankins responded to the scene of death of a nineteen month old Wingett Run resident. The child was terminally ill and recently released from the hospital to her parents. No foul play is suspected.

On 4 Dec 10 Deputy Sheriff Carr and the Little Muskingum Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of a fire of a detached garage outside the residence of Greg Martin, age 48, 1035 Smith Hill Road, Marietta. The fire caused substantial damage to two ATVs parked inside the structure and moderate damage to a Jeep parked nearby. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

On 4 Dec 10 Bridget M. Stephens, age 51, 13229 Waterford Road, Waterford, reported she inadvertently left her purse at White Oak Pharmacy and when she returned to retrieve her purse her wallet was missing. In addition to her credit and identification cards, Ms. Stephens said her wallet contained $250 in cash. This case remains under investigation (1209).

On 4 Dec 10 Deputy Sheriff Deem responded to a fire at the residence of David McClain, age 63, 480 Perry Road, Cutler. Mr. McClain was not present at the time of the fire, which was later determined to have originated in a dorm sized refrigerator. Fire departments from Little Hocking, Coolville and Rome responded and extinguished the fire. The structure was a total loss.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Zachary David Sobie, age 30, 36750 Old Church Road, Lower Salem, for a felony charge of failure to appear and for misdemeanor charges of OVI, failure to control, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sobie was arrested on State Route 821 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Dec 10 at 3:25 am.

Dana Britton Curry, age 38, 1025 Rocky Road, Johnstown, PA, for breach of recognizance and for failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Curry turned himself in to Corrections Officer Farrell and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Dec 10 at 6:28 pm.
