On 14 Nov 10 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and volunteer
fire departments from Chesterhill and Barlow and Wesley townships
responded to a fire at the residence of Kenneth Wilcoxen, age
58, at 1146 Wilcoxen Road, Bartlett. Mr. Wilcoxen stated he
left his home for approximately an hour and when he returned
it was engulfed in flames. Though the fire appears to have originated
in the home’s chimney, the Fire Marshal will be contacted
because it was an unattended fire. The home was a total loss.
On 14 Nov 10 a sixteen year old Bartlett resident
reported she was visiting a friend on Patten Mills Road in Cutler
when her ex-boyfriend Quentin Smith, age 18, 390 Kennedy Road,
Cutler, appeared at the residence and demanded to speak to her.
Speaking to Mr. Smith outside the home, the teenager said Mr.
Smith was angry because she had not returned a number of his
calls for the past month. At one point the juvenile said Mr.
Smith picked her up off the ground and removed the shoes from
both of her feet. The teenager said Ms. Smith did so because
he bought the shoes for her during their relationship. Placed
back on her feet, the juvenile attempted to reenter the residence
but Mr. Smith grabbed her by the arm and jerked her back toward
him, leaving redness on her left arm. Based on his investigation,
Sgt. Thorpe requested a warrant for Mr. Smith for assault.
