Archive of 10-22-10

On 22 Oct 10 Thomas A. Smith, age 18, 885 Rainbow Road, Waterford, reported he was attacked without provocation at the Fort Frye football game that evening. Witnesses confirmed that Cory M. Parker, age 18, 200 Pennock Street Lot 48, Beverly, approached Mr. Smith from behind, struck him in the head several times and then fled. Mr. Smith said he has been involved in a feud with Mr. Parker since Mr. Parker began dating his ex-girlfriend and he continues to speak with her. Though he initially claimed Mr. Smith initiated the incident, Mr. Parker later admitted punching Mr. Smith because he “lost his cool.” Consequently, Sgt. Hornbeck arrested Mr. Parker for assault and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 22 Oct 10 Margaret L. Norris 121 Southland Cemetery Road, Cutler, reported her seventy year old mother walked away from their residence after the two were involved in an argument. The victim was not immediately located but found unharmed several hours later (200).

On 22 Oct 10 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes requested a summons for a sixteen year old Marietta resident to appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by possession of drug paraphernalia. A student at the Washington County Career Center reported to school officials that the suspect allegedly had marijuana and other paraphernalia in her purse. When searched, school officials discovered a marijuana pipe, four cigarette lighters, the remnants of a marijuana joint and eye drops.

On 22 Oct 10 Rudemar Curbelo, age 59, 1723 SE 160th Street, Summerfield, FL, was turning around his tractor-trailer at the Marathon station at 66 Arrowhead Road in Little Hocking when his truck struck a light under the canopy covering the gas pumps. The impact caused minor damage to the light fixture but no damage to Mr. Curbelo’s truck.

The following individual wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:

Harry Burgett Swisher, age 62, 845 County House Lane, Marietta, for being intoxicated along a roadway, a misdemeanor. Swisher was arrested on Pike Street by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Oct 10 at 8:05 pm.
