On 30 Sep 10 Vanessa Sciance, age 24, 1885 Michaelis Road, Marietta, reported her live-in boyfriend Edward L. Sayger III, age 29, punched her and pulled her hair. Ms. Sciance stated her boyfriend has been abusive in the past and accused her of cheating on him earlier in the evening. An argument ensued and Ms. Sciance said she retreated to a bathroom during the assault, fearing that the situation would escalate further. Ms. Sciance said she fled through the bathroom window and commented that Mr. Sayger also threatened to “beat her face in.” Appearing upset, Mr. Sayger admitted he was involved in an argument with his girlfriend after he accused her of cheating but he would not provide any details pertaining to a physical altercation. Based on his investigation, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Sayger for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 30 Sep 10 Sgt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Jennifer D. Heiss, age 27, 261 Culver Run Road, Waterford, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped Ms. Heiss after she failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of State Route 60 and Walnut Street in Lowell.

On 30 Sep 10 Brenda S. Padgitt, age 54, 650 Sandhill Road, Marietta, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered her garage and rummage through her purse that she left in her vehicle. Mrs. Padgitt said she was missing over $1,000 from a bank envelope in her purse. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 30 Sep 10 Deputy Sheriff Anderson requested a summons for a fourteen year old Lowell resident to appear in Juvenile Court for being delinquent. Shortly after the juvenile boarded his school bus he threw a plastic bag at another student. Confiscating the bag, the bus driver discovered the bag contained two of the teenager’s prescription Adderall pills. Questioned about the incident, the student said he placed two of his pills in the bag and threw it in the vicinity of the bus driver in order to get in trouble. The teenager stated he has been having problems with one of his teachers and he thought if he got in trouble he would not have to go to her class.

On 30 Sep 10 Darcy Combs, age 49, 704 46th Street, Parkersburg, reported some of her personal property, including fifteen DVDs, fifty VHS videos, an office chair, a stamp set and other various school supplies were stolen from her former classroom at Barlow-Vincent Elementary School sometime between December 2009 and June 2010. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 30 Sep 10 Kurt M. Brannan, age 44, 290 Rummer Road, Marietta, reported sometime over the past four days an unknown suspect(s) stole the rear license plate off his Ford Ranger. This case remains under investigation (1209).

On 30 Sep 10 a witness reported he was driving to work when he noticed trash on property owned by his mother Betty M. Jordan, age 53, at 735 Kennedy Road, Cutler. This case remains under investigation (1209).

On 30 Sep 10 a fifteen year old Little Hocking resident drove into the parking lot of Par Mar at 66 Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, and rather than applying the brakes to park, inadvertently pressed the gas pedal. Accelerating forward, the Ford Expedition struck the front door of the convenience store. The crashed caused light damage to the vehicle and moderate damage to the building. At the time of the crash the juvenile was accompanied by her father.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Edward Lafayette Sayger, age 29, 1885 Michaelis Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a felony. Sayger was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 10 at 1:15 am.

Quincy Alex Lewis, age 25, 1134 Lynn Street, Parkersburg, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Lewis was arrested at the Locker Room by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 10 at 3:23 am.

Charles Lee Vincent, age 34, 211 Barber Street, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Vincent was arrested on Muskingum Drive by Patrolman Wright of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 10 at 6:29 am.

Devonne Curtis, age 51, 735 Eighth Street, Marietta, for abduction, for two counts of rape and for three counts of domestic violence, all felonies. Curtis was arrested at his residence by Detective Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 10 at 2:27 pm.

Raymond Edwin Trivett Jr., age 55, 205 Sixth Street, Beverly, for receiving stolen property, a felony. Trivett was arrested on Second Street by Chief Brockmeier of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 10 at 5:20 pm.
