On 29 Sep 10 Sgt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Darryl M. Britt, age 34, 810 Johnson Avenue, New Lexington, OH, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped Mr. Britt after he failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of State Route 60 and Walnut Street in Lowell.

On 29 Sep 10 Sgt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Matthew H. Brook, age 57, 51 Fleming Road, Lowell, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped Mr. Brook after he failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of State Route 60 and Walnut Street in Lowell.

On 29 Sep 10 Bobby D. Mullins, age 25, 770 Remely Road, Cutler, reported at some point during the past four days an unknown suspect(s) dumped a pile of trash on his property. This case remains under investigation (1209).

On 29 Sep 10 Mark S. McGuffie, age 48, 25613 Fortuna Street, MI, reported he was operating a high compression unit on the rear of a utility truck when the vehicle began to coast backwards. Mr. McGuffie jumped off the truck, which is owned by Inland Waters Pollution Control Inc., 4086 Michigan Avenue, Detroit, MI, and it rolled backward down an embankment at 500 Saint Andrews Boulevard, Belpre. The vehicle struck a ditch and came to rest against a gas line, causing minor damage. The vehicle also sustained minor damage.

On 29 Sep 10 Tommy Perdew, age 78, 1966 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre, reported when he reviewed his latest credit card statement he discovered his card was used on six occasions in August to receive cash advances totaling $756. Mr. Perdew said his card is not missing and he believes the suspect(s) stole and replaced the card in his wallet each time. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 29 Sep 10 an employee of Highland Ridge Water, 1330 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell, reported an anonymous caller stated the lock was cut off a water meter at a residence at 2596 Glendale Road, Marietta. Another employee verified the lock was cut off the meter and determined the stolen water amounted to a total of 980,290 gallons. The employees said the lock was cut off at some point during the past fourteen months and the estimated value of the stolen water is between $5,000 and $6,000. This case remains under investigation (296).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Cody Edward Longwell, age 25, 39154 Goddard Ridge Road, Sardis, for OVI, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for not wearing a seatbelt, all misdemeanors. Longwell was arrested near milepost twenty-four on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Sep 10 at 2:54 am.

Christopher Neil Mayle, age 31, 672 Hill Road, Cutler, for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Mayle was arrested on Braun Road by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Sep 10 at 4:07 am.

Clifton Paul Harvey, age 33, 22000 Big Run Road, Stewart, for driving under a suspended license, for failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer, for driving under an FRA suspended license, speeding, for having an inoperable license plate light and for improper passing, all misdemeanors. Harvey was arrested on Braun Road by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Sep 10 at 4:28 am.

Cory Glen Friend, age 19, 1061 39th Street, Parkersburg, for telephone harassment and criminal damaging, both misdemeanors. Friend was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Heddleston of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Sep 10 at 10:04 am.
