On 26 Sep 10 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested Bradley J. Hopkins, age 18, 3465 State Route 124, Little Hocking, for OVI and for failure to signal and Austin M. Moore, age 20, 3977 State Route 555, Little Hocking, for underage consumption of alcohol. Stopping Mr. Hopkins for failing to signal on two occasions on State Route 550, Deputy Rhodes immediately noticed an odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. Mr. Hopkins admitted to Deputy Rhodes that he and Mr. Moore had been drinking at a relative’s farm and were en route Barlow to visit friends. When transported to the Washington County Jail Mr. Hopkins tested .233 and Mr. Moore tested .057.

On 26 Sep 10 Trisha L. Ford, age 31, 1365 Browns Road, Marietta, reported her husband slapped her at one point during their evening out a bar. Investigating the claim, Deputy Sheriff Carr had difficulty following Mrs. Ford’s statements due to her intoxicated state. Also unable to view any injuries to Mrs. Ford’s face, Deputy Carr closed this case as unfounded. Mrs. Ford’s husband agreed to leave the residence for the evening to avoid any further problems.

On 26 Sep 10 Deputy Sheriff Deem requested summonses for Peter A. Hoium, age 18, 725 Third Street, Marietta, and Jason A. Ford, age 21, 639 Mitchells Lane, Marietta, for four counts of criminal mischief. A resident on Caywood Road in Marietta reported he awoke to a loud noise and discovered his mailbox was dislodged from its post. The victim said he entered his vehicle and drove south on Caywood Road, noticing three other damaged mailboxes. Shortly thereafter he observed a truck that Deputy Deem later determined was driven by Mr. Hoium. Located at Mr. Ford’s residence, Mr. Hoium eventually admitted driving the truck while Mr. Ford damaged mailboxes.
