On 25 Sep 10 Brad Schott, age 45, 16820 State Route 60, Lowell, reported when he awoke the previous morning he noticed a vehicle had driven through his yard overnight. Mr. Schotts thought nothing was amiss but later discovered an ATV and three dirt bikes were stolen from a storage building on his property. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 25 Sep 10 Ronald L. Thomas, age 70, 28 Maze Road, Belpre, reported at some point since he last used it on 11 Sep, a forty-two to forty-eight inch pull behind mower was stolen behind his garage. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 25 Sep 10 a twenty-nine year old New Matamoras resident was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital and later life-flighted to Grant Medical Center for treatment for a self inflicted gunshot wound. No foul play is suspected in the incident (1184).

On 25 Sep 10 Gary C. Congleton, age 57, 672 Dana Road, Newport, reported he departed a residence he owns at 1435 Smith Road, Wingett Run, at 11:15 am and when he returned at 6:15 pm he discovered a rear window was broken. Once inside the home, Mr. Congleton noticed a twenty-two inch flat panel television, a scrub brush, various soft drinks and two coffee cans containing nails and screws were missing. This case remains under investigation (1209).

On 25 Sep 10 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes was dispatched to 2378 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, in response to a 911 call that was unexpectedly terminated. At the scene, Andy R. Lance, age 23, admitted throwing a vacuum cleaner at his wife Audrey, age 21. Mr. Lance stated his wife was not taking her medication and claimed that he attempted to restrain his wife to keep her from hurting him. Additionally, Mr. Lance said when his wife told him she was calling for help he grabbed the phone and threw it against a wall. Asked about the incident, Mrs. Lance added to her husband’s admissions that he also struck her in the head repeatedly. Based on his investigation, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Lance for disrupting public service and domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Andy Ray Lance, age 23, 27023 Calder Ridge Road, Little Hocking, for a felony charge of disrupting public service and for a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. Lance was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hornbeck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Sep 10 at 2:07 am.

Michael Benjamin Brown, age 18, 111 Arborgate Drive, Marietta, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Brown turned himself in to Patrolman Wenzel at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Sep 10 at 3:08 pm.
