On 24 Sep 10 Lloyd Roberts, age 44, 1505 Scotts Ridge Road, Whipple, reported on two occasions during the past few weeks and unknown suspect placed a padlock on the outside of his front door. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 24 Sep 10 Brent Smith, age 46, 1599 Elizabeth Street, Belpre, reported sometime during the past two weeks an un known suspect(s) stole a twelve foot john boat from property he owns at 132 Short Brook Road in Vincent. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 24 Sep 10 Deputy Sheriff Simmons and the New Matamoras Fire Department responded to an unexplained brush fire in the vicinity of 290 Cemetery Drive. The one acre fire was extinguished without incident and later determined to have been caused by a lightning strike.

On 24 Sep 10 William H. Burkhart, age 47, 50 Burkhart Lane, Lowell, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked building on his property and stole a leaf blower, a weed eater, two chainsaws, a shotgun, a rifle and a box containing sixteen boxes of ammunition. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 24 Sep 10 Deputy Sheriff Simmons requested summonses for a fourteen year old Reno resident and a fifteen year old Marietta resident to appear in Juvenile Court on charges of delinquency by theft. Several students at Frontier High School informed school officials the previous day that various amounts of cash were missing from their belongings left in the boys’ locker room. When questioned separately, both teenagers admitted rifling through the pockets of the clothing in the locker room.

On 24 Sep 10 Deputy Sheriff Deem requested a summons for a sixteen year old Vincent resident to appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by domestic violence. After accidentally running into his eleven year old sister and causing her to spill her plate, the juvenile dragged his sister by the arm into another room and pinned her against the wall by her arms. The teenager then threatened to hurt is sister if she mentioned anything about what happened.

On 24 Sep 10 Sgt. Hornbeck issued a citation to James E. Barnhart Jr., age 30, 3088 Township Road 251, Caldwell, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped Mr. Barnhart after he failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of State Route 60 and Walnut Street in Lowell.

On 24 Sep 10 Sgt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Erica M. Hilverding, age 28, 717 Greene Street Apt. D, Marietta, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped Ms. Hilverding after she failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of State Route 60 and Walnut Street in Lowell.

On 24 Sep 10 Sgt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Meschelle L. Thompson, age 35, 549 N. Drake Road, Malta, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped Ms. Thompson after she failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of State Route 60 and Walnut Street in Lowell.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Shawn Benjamin Haga, age 29, 10274 State Route 550, Vincent, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Haga was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 10 at 8:30 am.

Lawrence Matthew Garner, age 28, Marietta, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Garner was picked up at the South Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 10 at 1:07 pm.

Ryan Graham Matheny, age 24, 233 Hillcrest Drive Apt. D, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Matheny was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 10 at 8:38 pm.

Robert Elliott Brecke, age 42, Route 4 Box 625-3, Buckhannon, WV, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Brecke was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 10 at 9:55 pm.
