On 20 Sep 10 Joseph A. Roush, age 46, 64 Lake
Road, Belpre, reported he left town around 8 pm on 18 Sep and
when he returned two days later he discovered 1990 Chevy truck
was missing. Mr. Roush stated he left the keys in the truck
and the vehicle has a short bed, is purple and has Ohio license
plate number ELK9825. This case remains under investigation
On 20 Sep 10 a fifty-three year old Lowell
resident reported her fourteen year old grandson twisted her
arm during a disagreement at their home that evening. The victim
stated he has custody of her grandson and he became upset with
her because he felt she was rushing him while he was in the
bathroom. The victim said she feared for her safety during the
incident and commented that her grandson has a history of mental
health issues. In fact, prior to the arrival of Sgt. Hornbeck,
the teenager bit himself in the arm, attempted to choke himself
and struck himself repeatedly in the nose until he started to
bleed. Transporting the juvenile to Marietta Memorial Hospital
for treatment and evaluation, Sgt. Hornbeck requested a summons
for the teenager to appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of
delinquency by domestic violence.
On 20 Sep 10 the driver of an unknown vehicle
struck a parked Chevy Impala owned by Josette Boggess, 520 Timberline
Drive, Vincent, in the parking lot of Barlow-Vincent Elementary
School at 70 Warrior Drive, Barlow. Ms. Boggess’ vehicle
sustained light, nonfunctional damage. This incident remains
under investigation (610).
On 20 Sep 10 Deputy Sheriff Simmons responded
to the scene of death of a sixty-seven year old Whipple resident.
The victim appears to have taken his own life after a recent
bout with depression. Though no foul play is suspected, this
case remains under investigation.
On 20 Sep 10 a Marietta Township trustee reported
he discovered ten tires and three bags of trash stacked along
Mitchells Lane. This case remains under investigation (1184).
On 20 Sep 10 an employee of Merchants 5 Star,
18192 State Route 7, Marietta, reported at some point during
the past two days an unknown suspect(s) entered the business
and stole 200 feet of welding power leads, six 100 foot sections
of extension cord, a grinder, a torque wrench, three sets of
sockets and various other hand tools. This case remains under

Jeffrey Joe Jones, age 54, 27160 Gillian Hubbard
Road, Coolville, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Jones was arrested
on S. Seventh Street by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 20 Sep 10 at 1:12 am.
Justin Lee O’Brien, age 34, Waterford
Road, Waterford, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. O’Brien
turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff Doak and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 20 Sep 10 at 9:40 am.
Devonne Curtis, age 51, 735 Eighth Street,
Marietta, for possession of drugs and for two counts of possession
of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Curtis was arrested
at his residence by Detective Smithberger of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Sep 10 at 10:35 am.
Ashana Dawn Long, age 18, 305 ½ Center
Street, Beverly, for criminal damaging and for disorderly conduct
by intoxication, both misdemeanors. Long turned herself in to
Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 20 Sep 10 at 12:15 pm.
Amber Dionne Martin, age 20, 24 Atkinson Ridge
Road, Walker, WV, for aggravated burglary, a felony. Martin
was picked up in Marysville at the Ohio Reformatory for Women
by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Sep 10 at 5:36 pm.
