On 14 Sep 10 Sgt. Thorpe investigated a single
vehicle crash involving a 1984 Chevy Monte Carlo owned by Eris
D. Miller, at her residence at 900 Ridgewood Boulevard, Belpre.
Earlier in the evening Ms. Miller’s seventeen year old
son parked the vehicle at the residence and inadvertently left
the vehicle in gear. Later, as he packed belongings in the vehicle
following a fight with his mother, the teenager saw the car
begin to roll backwards. The teenager attempted to stop the
vehicle but stopped after the car continued to roll down a steep
embankment. The vehicle then rolled across the roadway and struck
the home at 905 Ridgewood Boulevard. The impact caused substantial
damage to the vehicle and the home. No injuries were reported.
On 14 Sep 10 Georgia L. Wood, age 48, 106 Briargate
Drive, Marietta, reported she recently discovered approximately
fifty Xanax pills in a prescription bottle were stolen missing
from a travel bag in her bedroom. Ms. Wood stated she initially
thought she misplaced the medication but thus far has not been
able to find it. This case remains under investigation (805).
On 14 Sep 10 Bill Johnston, age 43, 351 Congress
Road, Belpre, reported his 2005 Ford Escape was stolen from
outside his residence sometime between 8 pm on 13 Sep and 7:00
am on 14 Sep. This case remains under investigation (707).
On 14 Sep 10 the Barlow Fire Department transported
Willie Adams, age 34, 9550 State Route 550, Vincent, to Marietta
Memorial Hospital for treatment to a gunshot wound on his right
leg. Mr. Adams was cleaning a .38 revolver and did not realize
there was a live buckshot round in one of the chambers when
he pulled the trigger. Emergency personnel stated Mr. Adams
would recover fully without surgery to remove the pellets in
his leg (500).
On 14 Sep 10 Joshua Schwendeman, age 29, 20650
State Route 550, Marietta, reported his 1993 Ford Ranger was
parked at his residence when he went to bed at midnight and
when he awoke at 6:30 am the truck was missing. The Ohio State
Highway Patrol later located the vehicle after it was involved
in a single vehicle crash in Chesterhill. Deputy Sheriff Lockhart
interviewed two of the suspects who were founds at the scene
of the crash and is attempting to locate the alleged driver.
On 14 Sep 10 Kara Pasquale, age 30, 797 Congress
Road, Belpre, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s)
entered her vehicle and stole her checkbook, a Nintendo DS and
a debit card. This case remains under investigation (707).
On 14 Sep 10 Eric Kidder, age 39, 1244 Drag
Strip Road, Belpre, reported a Coleman generator he borrowed
from his employer was stolen from his front porch sometime between
2:30 am and noon that morning. This case remains under investigation
(208).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Matthew Lamp, age 32, PO Box 641, New Matamoras,
for criminal damaging and menacing, both misdemeanors. Lamp
turned himself in at Marietta Municipal Court and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 10 at 9:07 am.
Aaron Robert Fulton, age 24, 214 Wooster Street
Apt. B, Marietta, for burglary, a felony. Fulton was picked
up at the Noble Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff Underwood
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 10 at
3:48 pm.
