On 22 Aug 10 Christy Collins, age 27, 401 Third Street, Macksburg, reported she refilled two days earlier and when she awoke to take her medication that morning three pill bottles were empty and another was missing. This case remains under investigation (594).

On 22 Aug 10 Glenna Milliron, age 18, 280 Bethel Road, Marietta, reported she was lying in bed during an argument with her husband when her husband pulled the mattress in an attempt to get her off the bed. Ms. Milliron phoned a relative who took her husband to another location for the evening. Neither party reported being threatened nor did they state they feared for their safety. As a result, Sgt. Norman closed this case as unfounded.

On 22 Aug 10 a Warren Township trustee reported three trash bags were tossed off the side of Hannah Road near the first milepost. Deputy Sheriff Lockhart located indentifying materials within the rubbish and is attempting to contact the parties responsible for improperly disposing of the trash.

On 22 Aug 10 Lisa W. Williams, age 47, 21200 State Route 676, Marietta, reported a Garmin GPS unit and $60 were stolen from her vehicle sometime overnight. This case remains under investigation (707).

On 22 Aug 10 an employee of R&J Trucking, 14530 State Route 7, Marietta, reported sometime between 7:30 pm on 21 Aug and 10 am on 22 Aug an unknown suspect(s) broke a window to a semi-truck and stole a CB radio, a GPS unit and a frequency monitor. Nearby, at 553 Blue Knob Road, Joe Lightfritz, age 48, reported an unlocked truck was entered and a CB radio stolen. This case remains under investigation (707).

On 22 Aug 10 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Adam K. Morris, age 18, 775 Turkey Hollow Road, Cutler, for operating a vehicle without a license and for operating an unsafe vehicle. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Adams for operating an ATV on State Route 555 in Fairfield Township.


On August 21, 2010, Agents from the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force and the Washington County Major Crimes Task Force began a joint investigation concerning the intimidation of a witness scheduled to appear in Wood County Circuit Court on August 31, 2010. Agents discovered posters were being circulated in the Parkersburg-Marietta area by Patrick R. Marte, age 25, 407 8th Street, Lot # 6, Belpre, who was attempting to locate an individual who was utilized as a confidential informant against him in Wood and Washington counties to allegedly purchased crack cocaine, morphine and illegal prescription medications. Marte obtained information about the confidential informant from his defense attorney during the discovery process in preparation for a trial. The posters contained a photograph and the name of the confidential informant.

Several individuals were interviewed and indicated Marte was attempting to intimidate the confidential information in an effort to get him to leave town. An individual believed to be working for Marte allegedly brandished a firearm and alluded he was going to use it against the confidential informant. This individual also indicated $70,000 was being offered for the location of the Confidential Informant.

On August 22, 2010, Agents executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence at 407 8th Street Lot #6 Belpre. Upon arriving at the residence the Agents identified themselves and after not receiving a response from inside were required to use force to gain entry. The defendant attempted to flee and had to be physically restrained.

Subsequently the defendant was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with F3 intimidation of a witness and M1 resisting arrest. He is being held in lieu of bond pending an appearance in Marietta Municipal Court.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Ronald Eugene Blair Jr., age 29, 30530 Lebanon Road, Lower Salem, for a felony charge of OVI and for misdemeanor charges of endangering children, driving under an FRA suspended license, operating a vehicle with fictitious plates and driving left of center. Blair was arrested on Dalzell Road by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 10 at 12:59 am.

James Arthur Henes, age 34, 315 Baxter Street Apt. 4, Medina, OH, for OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Henes was arrested on Second Street by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 10 at 4:15 am.

Elizabeth Dawn Beck, age 24, 743 Lancaster Street, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Beck was arrested at the Four Seasons by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 10 at 6:45 pm.

Patrick Ryan Marte, age 25, 1010 Poplar Street, Belpre, for a felony charge of intimidation of a witness and for a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. Marte was arrested at his residence by Detective Staats of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 10 at 7:10 pm.
