On 1 Aug 10 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Cory R. Clark, age 23, 747 Glendale Road, Marietta, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Clark after he failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Putnam and Front streets in Marietta.

On 1 Aug 10 David W. Clark, age 44, 1094 Sand Ridge Road, Waterford, reported his cousin David G. Mayle, age 24, 4885 Finkle Hill Road, Caldwell, phoned and awoke him in the middle of the night after the two spent the evening consuming alcohol. Mr. Mayle informed his cousin that he stole his Lincoln Towncar as well as two muzzleloaders, a compound bow, a chainsaw and a mobile phone. Furthermore, Mr. Mayle stated he crashed Mr. Clark’s vehicle and that he was currently at his grandmother’s home in Morgan County. Along with a Morgan County Deputy, Deputy Sheriffs Anderson and Mankins responded to a cemetery where Mr. Mayle said he abandoned the vehicle and stolen property. The Deputies recovered the stolen property from nearby locations at the cemetery and observed damage to the passenger side of Mr. Clark’s vehicle. As a result of their investigation, Deputy Anderson arrested Mr. Mayle for felony charges of theft and automobile theft and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 1 Aug 10 Deputy Sheriff Simmons investigated a possible domestic dispute involving Amy M. Carver, age 33, 124 Buells Circle, Marietta. Receiving treatment at Selby Hospital for tightness in her chest and anxiety, Mrs. Carver initially informed emergency personnel she was in a domestic dispute with her husband. However, Mrs. Carver later denied being involved in a dispute and did not have any injuries indicative of an altercation. As a result, Deputy Simmons closed this case as unfounded.

On 1 Aug 10 Ernest C. Goins, age 57, 26401 State Route 26, New Matamoras, reported sometime between 4:30 and 9:30 the previous evening an unknown suspect(s) entered an open garage on his property and stole two drills, drill bits, an extension cord, a push mower, a chainsaw, a circular saw and various hand tools. Mr. Goins estimated the stolen items are worth over $700. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 1 Aug 10 Eric A. Hoon, age 19, 318 Indian Run Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 5 pm on 30 Jul and 11 am on 1 Aug a Honda TRX400 ATV was stolen from a storage building on his property. This case remains under investigation (608).

On 1 Aug 10 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes requested summonses for disorderly conduct for Kelly S. Currey, age 41, 1045 Hocking Road, Little Hocking, William J. Zinser, age 51, and Kimberly J. Zinser, age 48, both of 6361 State Route 555, Little Hocking. The three individuals were involved in a minor altercation following a disagreement over a boat making wake in a no wake zone near a campground at 906 State Route 555, Little Hocking. During the fracas Mr. Zinser punched another individual without provocation and Ms. Currey and Mrs. Zinser wrestled and grabbed each other’s hair.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

David Glen Mayle, age 24, 4885 Finkle Hill Road, Caldwell, for two felony counts of theft. Mayle was picked up at the Morgan County line by Deputy Sheriff Anderson and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 10 at 9:55 am.

Shane Michael Hardie, age 34, 272 Ridgewood Court Apt. J, Marietta, for domestic violence, a felony. Hardie was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Heddleston of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 10 at 11:36 am.
