Archive of 07-30-10

On 30 Jul 10 Aaron A. Kiggans, age 26, 450 Wentz Road, Marietta, reported he gave his ex-wife permission to drive his vehicle while they attempted to reconcile but revoked his consent when their efforts failed. Mr. Kiggans said his ex-wife parked the vehicle but appears to have taken $360 worth of miscellaneous tools from the trunk. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 30 Jul 10 Donald L. Potts, age 64, 1868 Twin Bridge Road, Little Hocking, was repairing the brakes of his 1996 Dodge Caravan when he entered the vehicle to test them. As he pumped the brakes while parked in his driveway, Mr. Potts said the van coasted backward, turned slightly, struck a tree on the passenger side, continued to coast in reverse and came to rest after striking another tree with the rear bumper. Suffering minor injuries, Mr. Potts was transported to Camden Clark Hospital by the Little Hocking EMS. Mr. Potts’ vehicle sustained heavy damage (610).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Joshua Don Martin, age 30, 149 Warner Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Martin was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jul 10 at 11:09 am.

Roger William Burkhart Jr., age 25, 832 ½ Third Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Burkhart was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jul 10 at 11:50 am.

Alfred Henry Martin III, age 23, 3266 State Route 124, Coolville, for aggravated vehicular assault, failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer and for violating the terms of his probation, all felonies. Martin was arrested in Athens County by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jul 10 at 2:00 pm.
