On 24 Jul 10 Dustin Venham, 536 Millgate Road, Marietta, reported he parked his Chevy Malibu on the east side of the private roadway facing south and sometime between 11:45 am and 3:30 pm a vehicle traveling northbound sideswiped the rear passenger side fender of his vehicle. Deputy Sheriff Caltrider determined the second vehicle was a Ford F-150 driven by Charles McGowan, age 51, 520 Millgate Road. While Mr. Venham’s vehicle sustained moderate damage, the damage to Mr. McGowan’s truck was minor.

K-9 UNIT CAPTURES DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUSPECT

At 9:00 pm on July 24, 2010, the Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a convenience store in Lowell to meet with Kathy McDonald, age 32, 5310 2nd Avenue, Vienna, regarding a violent assault at the hands of her boyfriend, Mark E. Lee, age 33, 910 Fourth Street, Parkersburg. McDonald stated they were swimming in the Muskingum River and drinking alcohol with some campers near 7800 Muskingum River Road, Lowell, when Lee, for some unexplained reason, began hitting, kicking, and pulling her hair. Lee stomped on her head after knocking her to the ground. She was subsequently able to break free and escape to a Lowell convenience store.

Lee fled from the scene on foot. The Sheriff’s Office K-9 Bloodhound Tracking Unit was called to the location and K-9 Unit “Rudy,” handled by Deputy Sheriff McLeish, tracked Lee to a location where he was found passed out in a patch of weeds. Lee was charged with M-1 Domestic Violence and transported to the Washington County Jail. He remains incarcerated in lieu of bond pending an appearance in Marietta Municipal Court on Monday. Lee has been charged in the past with Malicious Assault, Wanton Endangerment, and Attempted Murder.

McDonald was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released. She requested a protection order in regards to this incident.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Darrel Wayne Gamiere, age 56, 119 Main Street, Lower Salem, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Gamiere was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Norman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jul 10 at 12:45 am.

Carl Alan Temesvary, age 40, 925 Greene Street, Newport, for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Temesvary was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman Nohe of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jul 10 at 2:10 am.

Amber Fawne Johnson, age 36, 10015 State Route 260, New Matamoras, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested at 806 Garfield Avenue in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jul 10 at 8:20 am.

Denzel Michael Jeffers, age 25, 278 Ridgewood Drive Apt. B, Marietta, for robbery, a felony. Jeffers was arrested on Pike Street by Patrolman Gragan of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jul 10 at 7:06 pm.

Mark Edward Lee, age 33, 5310 Second Avenue, Vienna, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Lee was arrested in the vicinity of Muskingum River Road by Sgt. Norman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jul 10 at 11:45 pm.
