On 12 Jul 10 Sgt. Hornbeck responded to the scene of death of a sixty-nine year old Reno resident. The woman’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

On 12 Jul 10 an employee of Hickory Grove, 5525 State Route 339, Vincent, reported an individual drove off without paying for $40 in gasoline on 2 Jul and repeated attempts to collect payment for the fuel have failed. Identifying the suspect as Lucas A. Heiss, age 30, 267 Culver Run Road, Waterford, Deputy Sheriff Rhodes viewed security footage of Mr. Heiss pumping gas at the station. Unable to locate Mr. Heiss, Deputy Rhodes requested a warrant for Mr. Heiss for theft.

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Joseph H. Bui, age 31, 127 Greene Street, Newport, for failing to appear in court on 25 Jun 10.

Jess D. Dixon, age 27, 23585 State Route 339, Beverly, for failing to appear for pretrial on 7 Jul 10.

Michael L. Powell, age 33, 1200 Lockwood Street, Belpre, for an act of domestic violence committed on 3 Jul 10.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Mark Steven Hendrix, age 54, 906 Park Avenue, New Matamoras, for OVI, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for hit-skip, all misdemeanors. Hendrix was arrested at Marietta Memorial Hospital by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jul 10 at 7:15 pm.

Melinda Sue Overly, age 24, Caldwell, for theft, a misdemeanor. Overly was arrested near milepost sixteen on Interstate 77 by Lt. Underwood of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jul 10 at 10:35 pm.
