On 3 Jul 10 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Joe D. Justice, age 57, 3126 Ipswitch Drive, Cocoa, FL, for failure to reinstate his operator’s license. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Justice for failing to use a signal when turning from Milner Road onto State Route 339 in Waterford Township.

On 3 Jul 10 Jennifer S. Powell, age 29, 90 Huck Lane, Vincent, reported she was involved in an argument with her estranged husband and alleged he struck her with a screwdriver. Interviewed by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes, Ms. Powell was reluctant to answer questions. When questioned, Ms. Powell’s husband provided a statement similar to his wife’s. Based on their interviews, Sgt. Hornbeck and Deputy Rhodes do not believe an act of domestic violence occurred. However, this case remains open pending review by the Law Director.

On 3 Jul 10 Sgt. Hornbeck issued citations to Aaron C. Goins Jr., age 18, 1340 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, and Jason S. Dotson, age 30, 697 Hill Road, Cutler, for not wearing seat belts. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped the vehicle Mr. Goins was operating for driving outside the marked lanes of travel on State Route 555 near State Route 550 in Wesley Township.

On 3 Jul 10 Donald L. Ginther, age 46, 200 Pennock Drive Lot 23, Beverly, reported he was filling his vehicle with gas at Turner’s in Waterford when his ex-wife Patricia, age 37, 101 Theis Avenue Lot 19, Marietta, parked next to him in her vehicle. Mr. Ginther has a protection order against his ex-wife and said she followed him into the store and repeatedly attempted to speak to him. When he departed the location, Mr. Ginther stated his ex-wife followed him for a brief time but later changed her direction of travel. Thereafter, Deputy Sheriff Anderson located Ms. Ginther at her residence, arrested her for violating the terms of a protection order and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

On 3 Jul 10 Dale W. Welsh, age 62, 3437 State Route 339, Belpre, suffered minor wounds to his right thumb and index finger while operating a table saw at his residence. Mr. Welsh’s wife transported him to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment to his injury. X-rays were being taken but the attending physician believes the damage to Mr. Welsh’s fingers was relatively minor (610).

On 3 Jul 10 James R. Henderhan, age 63, 470 Ferncliff Drive, Marietta, reported his wife was intoxicated and initiated an argument with him as he drove to their residence from Williamstown. Once they reached their home Mr. Henderhan said a struggle ensued over a spare house key and his wife inadvertently struck him in the face. Mr. Henderhan stated he did not believe his wife was trying to harm him and that she would sleep at a relative’s home overnight. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Simmons closed this case as unfounded.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Aaron John Sarver, age 24, 15936 State Route 550, Fleming, for OVI, for not wearing a seat belt, for operating a vehicle with defective exhaust, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, menacing, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Sarver was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jul 10 at 4:43 am.

Rodney Gerald Beyers, age 63, Marietta, for failure to appear, a felony. Beyers was picked up in Yavapai County, AZ by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jul 10 at 6:25 pm.

Dayle Robert Sparks, age 21, 4299 SE 142 Street, Summerfield, FL, for a felony charge of failure to appear and for misdemeanor charges of failure to appear and failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Sparks was picked up in Marion County, FL by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jul 10 at 8:25 pm.

Jacey Lee Ray, age 20, 16813 Old River Road, Vancleave, MS, for four felony counts of trafficking in drugs. Ray was picked up in Jackson County, MS by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jul 10 at 6:49 pm.

Patricia Eileen Ginther, age 37, 101 Theis Avenue Apt. 19, Marietta, for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Ginther was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jul 10 at 9:38 pm.
