On 26 Jun 10 Carolyn Allen, age 47, 8000 Dozer
Road, Cambridge, reported she was involved in a minor altercation
with a relative at her relative’s residence at 1170 Goose
Run Road, Marietta. Ms. Allen stated tensions were high following
the division of a deceased relative’s estate and she had
been arguing with her relative. Minor physical contact took
place during the dispute but neither party was willing to provide
a written statement about the incident. Ms. Allen’s relative
agreed to leave the residence for the evening in order to avoid
further problems. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Caltrider closed
this case as unfounded.
On 26 Jun 10 the Little Hocking Fire Department
transported a twenty-four year old Vincent resident to Camden
Clark Hospital for treatment and evaluation. Following a night
of drinking and an argument with her boyfriend, the victim inflicted
several superficial cuts to wrists with a knife.
On 26 Jun 10 Matt Johnson, age 40, 3901 Parkview
Drive, Parkersburg, reported he is the caretaker for his deceased
father’s property and when he arrived at the property
at 1310 Kennedy Road, Cutler, on 17 Jun two suspicious individuals
were at the residence. Mr. Johnson said the male and female
quickly fled and as they did he noticed a large amount of electrical
wire in their vehicle. Inspecting the inside of the home, Mr.
Johnson discovered that nearly all of the wiring in the home
was missing. This case remains under investigation (707).
On 26 Jun 10 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart requested
a summons for Harold J. Copen, age 59, 318 Echo Valley Road,
Waterford, for assault. Mr. Copen was backing his vehicle and
trailer into his driveway when Joshua D. Campbell, age 25, 840
Echo Valley Road, derided him and yelled at him for taking a
long period of time. At some point Mr. Copen exited his truck,
approached Mr. Campbell’s vehicle and punched him in the
face more than once. As Mr. Copen walked away, Mr. Campbell
threw a cup of tea at him, prompting him to return to Mr. Campbell’s
vehicle. Mr. Copen then pulled Mr. Campbell from his vehicle,
shoved him against a wooden fence and threatened him. When another
car approached Mr. Copen released his grip and Mr. Campbell
On 26 Jun 10 the Warren Fire Department transported
a forty-two year old Marietta resident to Marietta Memorial
Hospital for treatment following an intentional overdose on
two of her prescription medications. The victim was hospitalized
and will undergo further treatment and evaluation (712).
On 26 Jun 10 David Mullen, age 55, 47 Suzanne
Street, Little Hocking, suffered injuries to his lower back
and left knee after falling from atop a four foot ladder. Transported
to Camden Clark Hospital by the Little Hocking Fire Department,
Mr. Mullen was trimming a tree when the ladder’s cross
support failed and the ladder collapsed (597).
On 26 Jun 10 Sgt. Thorpe and Deputy Sheriff
Mayle responded to a domestic dispute at 105 Stanley Street,
Newport. At the residence, Brenda Wise, age 37, stated she was
involved in an argument with her husband over the state of their
marriage and her husband struck her unoccupied vehicle with
his vehicle when he was departing the residence. Mrs. Wise said
the initial collision was accidental but her husband struck
the vehicle a second time and pushed it out of his way. Neither
Mrs. Wise nor her husband reported being in fear for their safety
during the incident and both parties agreed to separate for
the evening. As a result, Deputy Mayle closed this case as unfounded.

Richard Blaine Gilland, age 49, 560 Stanley
Avenue, Columbus, for OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors.
Gilland was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun
10 at 2:58 am.
Joanna Louise Brooks, age 27, 29800 State Route
7, Marietta, for telephone harassment, a misdemeanor. Brooks
was arrested on Pike Street by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 10 at
Chase Gregory Loy, age 21, 34482 Tick Ridge
Road, Lower Salem, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a
misdemeanor. Loy was arrested on Pike Street by Patrolman Nedeff
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 10 at 8:54 pm.
