On 18 Jun 10 the New Matamoras EMS transported Meriah S. Dunn, age 19, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 4A, New Matamoras, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to an overdose on the prescription muscle relaxer Flexeril. Emergency room personnel informed Deputy Sheriff Simmons that Ms. Dunn should recover fully.

On 18 Jun 10 Raymond J. Wynn, age 26, 111 Rae Avenue, Marietta, reported sometime between 16 Jun and 18 Jun an unknown suspect(s) entered a storage trailer on his property and stole $1,600 worth of tools he uses for his business. Mr. Dent stated the stolen items include a socket set, two cordless drills, two nail guns and a jigsaw. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 18 Jun 10 Elizabeth M. Shaffer, age 25, 16745 County Nine Road, New Matamoras, reported she allowed two acquaintances to stay at her residence for a few days and while she was away the two acquaintances left and stole an Xbox 360, a stereo receiver, a portable DVD player, a Super Nintendo, numerous games and a CD player. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 18 Jun 10 a thirteen year old McConnelsville resident suffered a strained and bruised back when she was thrown from a horse at a horse camp in Devola. An instructor said something spooked the horse, at which time the teenager became tangle in the reins. She did not strike the ground but was struck in the back by one of the horse’s hooves. The Devola Fire Department transported the juvenile to Marietta Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released (790).

The following individual wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jacob Matthew Shaffer, age 23, Marietta, for a felony charge of domestic violence and for a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Shaffer was arrested on Second Street by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Jun 10 at 2:29 pm.
