On 7 Jun 10 the Beverly-Waterford Emergency Squad transported Myron Nibert, age 67, 211 Center Street, Waterford, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to injuries suffered in an ATV crash. Mr. Nibert was riding an ATV on a trail at the end of Angle Road in Waterford Township when he lost control and rolled off the side of the trail and down an embankment. Mr. Nibert did not appear to suffer any injuries but was scheduled to undergo further tests as a precaution (1104).

On 7 Jun 10 Lt. Stackpole and Deputy Sheriffs Caltrider and Lockhart responded to a domestic violence call at 108 Seneca Drive, Marietta. When the Deputies arrived, Steven Hupp, age 39, ordered them off his property and stated he was just kicking his wife out of the house. Intoxicated and becoming increasingly belligerent, Mr. Hupp refused to cooperate and lunged threateningly at Deputy Lockhart. Deputy Lockhart was able to pin Mr. Hupp on the ground but was unable to handcuff him until Lt. Stackpole stunned Mr. Hupp with his Taser. As a result of the incident, Deputy Lockhart arrested Mr. Hupp for disorderly conduct by intoxication and resisting arrest and transported him to the Washington County Jail. Mr. Hupp’s wife stated her husband did not threaten or assault her and commented that he was drunk and trying to throw everyone out of the house.

On 7 Jun 10 John Berentz, age 37, 904 Stover Drive, New Matamoras, reported he inadvertently left his keys on the rear bumper of his vehicle the previous evening and when he returned to his vehicle the next morning the keys were missing. Mr. Berentz stated an unknown suspect(s) opened the trunk of his vehicle and stole fishing equipment, baseball gloves, baseballs, bases and an emergency kit. This case remains under investigation (594).

On 7 Jun 10 Jason Whittaker, age 32, 22781 State Route 60, Beverly, reported he was involved in an argument with his girlfriend and that she grazed his nose when she attempted to punch him. Mr. Whittaker declined to pursue charges in the matter but his girlfriend was later arrested by the Beverly Police Department on an unrelated warrant for violating her probation (1090).

On 7 Jun 10 Ralph Arnold, age 51, 145 Rauch Drive, Marietta, reported an unknown suspect used his credit card without permission on three occasions in May and accrued over $1,500 in charges on an online chat room. This case remains under investigation (208).

On 7 Jun 10 an employee of Concepts West, 17943 State Route 7, Marietta, reported thirteen boxes of pool shock were stolen from the company’s warehouse sometime between 4:30 pm on 4 Jun and 7:30 am on 7 Jun. This case remains under investigation (1293).

On 7 Jun 10 David Hensler, age 32, 30155 State Route 7, Marietta, struck a deer while he was riding a Yamaha motorcycle southbound on State Route 7 near milepost twenty-nine. The resulting impact ejected Mr. Hensler from his motorcycle. The Reno Fire Department transported Mr. Hensler to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to his right forearm, right hip and left hand. Mr. Hensler’s motorcycle sustained disabling damage (809).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Tee El Dodd, age 22, Route 6 Box 24, Clarksburg, WV, for two misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Dodd turned himself in to Corrections Officers and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Jun 10 at 1:53 am.

Robert Kenneth Sanders Jr., age 19, 1409 23rd Street, Parkersburg, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and for a misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle without a license and speeding. Sanders was arrested on Braun Road by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Jun 10 at 5:40 am.

Matthew Scott Feathers, age 26, 635 Fourth Street, Marietta, for aggravated burglary, a felony. Feathers turned himself in at Marietta Municipal Court and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Jun 10 at 9:50 am.

Joshua Don Martin, age 30, 149 Warner Street, Marietta, for contempt of a court order and for OVI, both misdemeanors. Martin was arrested on Greene Street by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Jun 10 at 9:50 am.

Jessica Dawn Smith, age 18, 417 Unionville Road, Beverly, for a felony charge of forgery and for a misdemeanor charge of theft. Smith was picked up at the Morgan County line by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Jun 10 at 10:45 am.
