On 17 May 10 Deputy Sheriff Mayle requested summonses for Timothy J. Bookman, age 29, and his wife Angela, age 31, both of 90 Stanley Street, Newport, for disorderly conduct by fighting. Following an argument with his wife, Mr. Bookman planned to leave the residence and was in the process of moving a flat screen television to take with him when his wife noticed him. A brief struggle over the television then ensued. Interviewing witnesses, Deputy Mayle determined no act of domestic violence occurred.

On 17 May 10 Teresa L. Evans, age 44, 600 Main Street, New Matamoras, reported despite the fact that her husband Richard, age 47, 311 Main Street Apt. A, New Matamoras, was served with a protection order last week he continues to initiate contact with her. Ms. Evans stated over the weekend her husband left messages on her voicemail, sat in his parked vehicle outside her home and waved at her and at one point she noticed him standing on her sidewalk and looking through her window. Interviewed at his home, Mr. Evans admitted contacting his wife via phone in order to speak to her about visitation with his child. As a result of his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Simmons arrested Mr. Evans for two counts of violating the terms of a protection order and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
