On 15 May 10 Deputy Sheriff McLeish issued a citation to Gennia M. Carte, age 46, 80 Heeter Road, Newport, for driving under an OVI suspended license. Deputy McLeish stopped Ms. Carte on State Route 7 in Newport.

On 15 May 10 Stephanie Chevalier, age 33, 10 Browns Road Apt. 11A, Marietta, reported she was involved in a heated argument with her husband. Mrs. Chevalier stated the two had been arguing for several days and she phoned for help so their argument would not get out of hand. Confirming no threat or act of domestic violence occurred, Lt. Stackpole closed this case as unfounded (594).

On 15 May 10 Lynsey Handschumacher, age 19, 1110 Dalzell Road, Whipple, reported her Coach purse, containing two rings, cash, sunglasses and a credit card, was stolen from the back seat of her car while her boyfriend used the vehicle to run an errand at Polk’s Market in Whipple that morning. This case remains under investigation (594).

On 15 May 10 the Beverly-Waterford EMS transported Adam Thatcher, age 38, 810 Derby Road, Waterford, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to injuries suffered from a dog bite. Mr. Thatcher’s wife said she and her husband were outside with two of their dogs when their third dog escaped from inside their home and attacked one of the dogs. Mr. Thatcher suffered bites to both of his hands and a dislocated finger when he attempted to separate the dogs and subsequently had a part of his index finger amputated (208).

The following individual wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:

Zachariah Lee Combs, age 23, 923 High Street, Malta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Combs was arrested at the Valley Inn in Beverly by Deputy Sheriff Mayle and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 May 10 at 1:00 am.
