On 14 May 10 Deputy Sheriff Holbert issued minor misdemeanor citations to Devan W. Anderson, age 19, and Eric C. Anderson, age 42, both of 900 Tresch Road, Fleming, for disorderly conduct by fighting. An argument between the father and son began when Eric confronted Devan for allegedly stealing prescription drugs from his mother’s purse. A shoving match ensued and ended moments later when Devan phoned for help. Interviewing a witness, Deputy Holbert concluded both parties were equally involved in the altercation.

On 14 May 10 Arthur Reiser, age 71, 920 Caywood Road, Marietta, reported an unknown suspect(s) scratched the driver’s side of his vehicle from the front fender to the rear fender. Mr. Reiser stated five days earlier an unknown suspect(s) also scratched the passenger side of his vehicle in the same manner. This case remains under investigation (208).

On 14 May 10 Dean Wolfert, age 54, 309 Walnut Drive, Whipple, reported sometime between 10 and 14 May an unknown suspect(s) entered his hunting cabin at 1287 Peaker Run Road in Macksburg and stole a chainsaw, several hunting bows, tools, knives, a tree stand, eating utensils, and approximately 1,000 rounds of various ammunition. This case remains under investigation (594).

On 14 May 10 Byron Clayton, age 51, 414 Strecker Lane, Marietta, reported he was assaulted during a disagreement with a contractor over work performed at his residence. During the discussion Mr. Clayton mentioned his daughters were concerned because the contractor, Tyrone A. Taylor, age 45, 250 Ferncliff Drive, Marietta, is a registered sex offender. That comment angered Mr. Taylor, who then grabbed Mr. Clayton by the neck and shoved him against a wall. Questioned about the incident, Mr. Taylor acknowledged being upset by the comment Mr. Clayton made and stated he grabbed Mr. Clayton by the shirt and yelled at him. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Caltrider arrested Mr. Taylor for assault and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

HEROIN COURIER ARRESTED ON US 50 NEAR LITTLE HOCKING

On 13 May 10 Major Crimes Task Force Special Agents Staats and Smithberger were on patrol in the vicinity of US 50 and State Route 555 when they observed an individual they knew to have a suspended license driving a vehicle. As Agent Smithberger questioned the driver, Amy L. Davis, age 35, 145 Greenbrier Circle, Marietta, Agent Staats deployed his canine to perform an exterior sniff of the vehicle. The canine did not indicate drugs were in the vehicle, however Ms. Davis stated she was just returning from Columbus and had injected two balloons of heroin while she was there. Ms. Davis further revealed that she purchased $300 worth of heroin while she was in Columbus and that she had the balloons concealed in a body cavity. After being transported to the Washington County Jail Ms. Davis removed the heroin from her body and turned them over to Detective Smithberger. In total, Agent Smithberger counted twenty-four unit doses of heroin in various colored balloons and aluminum foil balls.

As a result of the traffic stop, Ms. Davis was charged with a third degree felony of tampering with evidence, a fourth degree felony of possession of heroin and a misdemeanor of driving under a suspended license.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Dwin Jay McGraw, age 57, 53661 Number Nine Road, Reedsville, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. McGraw was arrested on State Route 7 near the Athens County line by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 May 10 at 1:03 am.

Eric Christopher Edgar, age 25, 417 Goss Fork Road, Whipple, for driving under a suspended license and for giving false information to avoid a ticket, both misdemeanors. Edgar was arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol was and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 May 10 at 3:32 am.

Glen Allen Starcher, age 22, 4609 C Green Shante Road, Ooltewah, TN, for operating a vehicle without a license and for giving false information to avoid a ticket, both misdemeanors. Starcher was arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 May 10 at 4:02 am.

Philip Gene Covey, age 32, 26934 State Route 7, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Covey was arrested on Second Street by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 May 10 at 8:45 am.

Tyrone Anthony Taylor, age 45, 250 Ferncliff Drive, Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Taylor was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Caltrider and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 May 10 at 1:15 pm.

Wesley Franklin Warrener, age 43, 733 Eighth Street, Marietta, for being a fugitive from justice, a misdemeanor. Warrener was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 May 10 at 5:15 pm.

Nicky Lee Lamp, age 37, 60 Railroad Street, Whipple, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Lamp was turned in by a bail bondsman and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 May 10 at 6:10 pm.

Devan Wade Anderson, age 19, 900 Tresch Road, Fleming, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Anderson was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 May 10 at 6:15 pm.
