On 12 May 10 Dennis Stiers, age 44, 3599 Johnson
Ridge Road, Stockport, reported he was at work at his business,
Total Automotive at 8610 State Route 339 in Vincent when Myles
Merew, age 31, 2168 State Route 339, Beverly, parked his truck
in his parking lot. Mr. Stiers stated he has left notes on Mr.
Merew’s truck in the past and instructed him not to park
in the lot so he approached Mr. Merew to ask him to move his
vehicle. When he reached within arm’s length of Mr. Merew,
Mr. Stiers said Mr. Merew punched him, knocked him to the ground
and stated to him that he would park there whenever he wanted.
Questioned about the incident, Mr. Merew stated Mr. Stiers raised
a flashlight above his head when he approached him and that
he slapped Mr. Stiers because he felt threatened. Mr. Stiers
conceded that he in fact was carrying the flashlight during
the confrontation but denied making any threatening gesture.
Unable to identify the primary aggressor, Sgt. Hornbeck requested
summonses for both Mr. Stiers and Mr. Merew for disorderly conduct
On 12 May 10 Timothy Mackey, age 29, 1247 Sealy
Ridge Road, Vincent, reported his live-in girlfriend Amanda
Blind, age 26, arrived home intoxicated and immediately initiated
a confrontation. Mr. Mackey stated Ms. Blind struck him in the
face, scratched him and kneed him in the face when he bent over
to pick up his glasses. Repeatedly attempting to escape from
Ms. Blind, Mr. Mackey said at one point his girlfriend jumped
on him from behind and bit him in the back. Verifying Mr. Mackey’s
statement with injuries he observed, Deputy Sheriff Anderson
arrested Ms. Blind for domestic violence and transported her
to the Washington County Jail.
On 12 May 10 Deputy Sheriff Carr was serving
a temporary protection order on Natalie S. Weckbacher, age 27,
29905 State Route 7, Marietta, ordering her to vacate the residence
when Ms. Weckbacher claimed she was assaulted on two occasions
by her housemate. Ms. Weckbacher asserted she was assaulted
on two separate occasions but was evasive when asked to further
elaborate about the circumstances of each incident. Unable to
verify the veracity of Ms. Weckbacher’s allegations, Deputy
Carr closed this case as unfounded.
Office received the following warrants:
Lewis M. Evans, age 24, Whiskey Run Road, Saint
Marys, for violating the terms of his probation.
Joshua D. Campbell, age 25, 32 Anderson Lane,
Waterford, for aggravated menacing for threatening a victim
with a firearm.
Patricia A. Bonar, age 33, 735 Silver Globe
Road, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $322.40.
Sheldon D. Hill, age 27, 9150 State Route 550,
Vincent, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $308.10.
Brandon P. Layman, age 28, 112 Holly Street,
Marietta, for failing to appear for arraignment on 26 Apr 10.
Herman W. Smith Jr., age 45, 324 1/2 Second
Street, Macksburg, for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $272.80.
Evelyn K. Price, age 30, 47430 State Route
7, New Matamoras, for violating the terms of her probation.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Nicole Lynn Chmura, age 19, Stockport, for
being a fugitive from justice, a felony. Chmura was arrested
at the Locker Room by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 12 May 10 at 3:05 am.
Leonard Earl Harless, age 25, 2230 Reeds Run
Road, Whipple, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Harless
was arrested at the Locker Room by Patrolman Arbaugh of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 12 May 10 at 3:33 am.
Derick Eugene Simpkins, age 22, 510 ½
Cutler Street Apt. 5, Marietta, for violating the terms of his
probation, a felony. Simpkins was arrested at the Adult Probation
Office by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 12 May 10 at 4:18 pm.
Amanda Lynn Blind, age 26, 1247 Sealy Ridge
Road, Vincent, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Blind was
arrested at her residence by Lt. Underwood of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 12 May 10 at 8:44 pm.
