On 6 May 10 Karena Coody, age 36, 327 Mill
Creek Road, Gilvertown, AL, reported she was involved in a dispute
with the father of her three children, Frederick G. McKitrick,
age 28, 3010 Burnett Road, Cutler, at a residence on State Route
7 in Marietta. Ms. Coody said Mr. McKitrick was intoxicated,
got angry for no apparent reason and threw two rocks and two
unopened beer cans at her vehicle. Then, Ms. Coody stated Mr.
McKitrick punched her in the arm and the back of the head. Based
on Ms. Coody’s statements and the damage to Ms. Coody’s
vehicle, Deputy Sheriff McLeish arrested Mr. McKitrick for domestic
violence and criminal mischief and transported him to the Washington
On 6 May 10 Michael Augenstein, age 61, 1450
Goss Fork Road, Whipple, reported a male subject he knows only
as Steve confronted him in the parking lot of the Pit Stop on
State Route 821. Mr. Augenstein stated the suspect was upset
that he spoke as a friend to the suspect’s girlfriend
and threatened to beat him up and knocked a candy bar out of
his hand when he attempted to use his mobile phone. This case
remains under investigation (208).
On 6 May 10 Deputy Sheriff Mayle issued a citation
to Denise May, age 34, 1308 Williamson Avenue, New Matamoras,
for operating a vehicle without a license. Deputy Mayle stopped
Ms. May near milepost twenty on State Route 550 in Warren Township.
On 6 May 10 William Zink, age 44, 11605 State
Route 339, Vincent, reported his live-in girlfriend struck him
during an argument over their finances. Interviewing the involved
parties, Deputy Sheriff Smeeks determined that Mr. Zink was
holding a credit card above his head and his girlfriend inadvertently
struck him while trying to grab it. Mr. Zink’s girlfriend
agreed to sleep elsewhere for the evening to avoid any problems.
As a result, Deputy Smeeks closed this case as unfounded.
On 6 May 10 Corrections Officer Sheaves filed
charges against Washington County Jail inmate Jeremy Ernest,
age 25, 810 West Virginia Avenue, Parkersburg, for theft. Two
days earlier another jail inmate reported two phone cards he
recently purchased no longer had minutes on them and that he
did not permit any other inmate to use his cards. Questioned
regarding the theft, Mr. Ernest admitted copying the numbers
on victim’s card and later using the numbers to place
On 6 May 10 Lt. Stackpole, Sgt. Norman and Deputy Sheriff Caltrider
responded to a domestic disturbance at 1080 Bethel Road, Marietta.
When interviewed, Tracy Leasure, age 31, stated she accidentally
dialed 911 and at no time did any party threaten violence. Ms.
Leasure’s live-in boyfriend confirmed her story, stating
that Ms. Leasure recently started new medication and was upset
because she thought he showed his daughter love than he does
to her. Therefore, this case was closed as unfounded.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Roy Burk Woody, age 38, Route 1 Box 141C, Chapmanville,
WV, for disrupting public service, theft, possession of criminal
tools and for two counts of vandalism, all felonies. Woody was
picked up at the Southwest Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Underwood
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 May 10 at
Bridget Renee Bishop, age 30, 302 Maple Street,
Marietta, for a felony charge of retaliation and for misdemeanor
charges of endangering children and obstructing official business.
Bishop was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Hively of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 6 May 10 at 3:35 pm.
Michael Von Richards, age 32, 1365 McGill Road,
Vincent, for two felony counts of possession of drugs and for
misdemeanor charges of failure to appear, for operating a vehicle
with expired plates and for driving under an OVI suspended license.
Richards was picked up at the Jackson County Jail by Deputy
Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 6 May 10 at 5:00 pm.
Frederick Gale McKitrick, age 28, 3010 Burnett
Road, Cutler, for domestic violence and for criminal mischief,
both misdemeanors. McKitrick was arrested on State Route 7 by
Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 6 May 10 at 6:59 pm.
Larry Gene Joy, age 47, 1220 East Branch Road,
Lowell, for possession of drugs and for three counts of trafficking
in drugs, all felonies. Joy was arrested at his residence by
Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 6 May 10 at 11:01 pm.
Mayford Lee Miller, age 52, 1114 Walsh Road,
Vincent, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Miller
was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff McLeish and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 May 10 at 11:15
