On 1 May 10 Deputy Sheriff Caltrider was dispatched to an altercation involving an injury at 451 Rummer Road, Marietta. Witnesses at the scene reported John Beehler, age 23, 200 Pennock Drive Lot 61, Beverly, was visiting a friend in the area and the two were carrying on, yelling and chasing each other. Not knowing the two parties were joking, a neighbor attempted to intervene and reached out to grab Mr. Beehler as he ran past him. The neighbor’s actions caused Mr. Beehler to lose his footing and he fell to the pavement, striking his head and shoulder. Though the injury appears to be due to the neighbor’s unintentional actions, this case remains open pending an interview with Mr. Beehler. Mr. Beehler was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment; his current status is unknown.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Joshua Mark Whitstone, age 19, 125 Franklin Street, Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor. Whitstone was arrested at Rinky Dinks by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 May 10 at 11:15 am.

Roger Shane Truax, age 39, 660 Cole-Coffman Road, Marietta, for failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer and for operating an unsafe vehicle, both misdemeanors. Truax was arrested on State Route 821 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 May 10 at 8:27 pm.

Eldon Ray Pierce Jr., age 33, 207 ½ Florence Street, Belpre, for domestic violence and for aggravated menacing, both misdemeanors. Pierce was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 May 10 at 11:52 pm.
