On 30 Apr 10 a clerk at Par Mar, 66 Arrowhead
Road, Little Hocking, reported the male driver of a white vehicle
with a West Virginia license plate exited the store with the
pockets of his hooded sweatshirt bulging with merchandise. The
clerk stated he was attending to other customers at the time
and said the suspect’s pockets appeared empty when he
entered the store. This case remains under investigation (200).
On 30 Apr 10 Christina Vaughn, age 36, 450
Rummer Road, Marietta, reported she allowed her boyfriend to
borrow her truck on 20 Apr with the stipulation that he return
it that evening. Ms. Vaughn stated she attempted to contact
her boyfriend at his employer and via phone but she has been
unsuccessful thus far. This case remains under investigation
On 30 Apr 10 Joseph Jakubowski, age 19 4240
Archers Fork Road, New Matamoras, reported he was at work at
Influent when a coworker informed him that another coworker
told her that she spit in his drink on 27 and 28 Apr. Interviewed
by Deputy Sheriff Caltrider, the suspect denied the allegation
that she spit in Mr. Jakubowski’s drinks. This case remains
open pending the interviews of additional witnesses.
On 30 Apr 10 Shannon Lewis, age 19, 480 Radabaugh
Road, Belpre, reported he parked his vehicle at his residence
at 11 pm the previous evening and when he returned to the vehicle
at 8 pm the next morning the rear window was completely shattered.
This case remains under investigation (707).
On 30 Apr 10 Susan Kerby, age 59, 703 19th
Street, Vienna, reported she was caring for a hospice patient
in Little Hocking when her patient struck her in the hand and
head with a wooden yard stake. Ms. Kerby said her patient is
not permitted to drive and he was attempting to leave the residence
in his truck when she wrestled the keys from his hand and threw
them into the yard. A struggle ensued as Ms. Kerby attempted
to keep the patient from falling and from the retrieving the
keys. Ms. Kerby suffered minor injuries but declined to pursue
charges in the matter (500)..
On 30 Apr 10 Sgt. Norman arrested Frederick
G. McKitrick, age 28, 740 Greene Street, Newport, for five counts
of receiving stolen property. During a consensual search of
a storage building at 3430 Millers Lane, Reno, Sgt. Norman and
Deputy Sheriff Reeder located a trampoline that was stolen along
with other items from a property on Close Road in Newport on
23 Apr. Though Mr. McKitrick provided explanations as to the
origins of the items, the owner identified them as those stolen
from him. In addition to trampoline, the stolen items recovered
include sheets of particle board, a level, two space heaters
and kitchen cabinets.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Bryan David Parrish, age 48, 427 Way Road,
Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Parrish was arrested
at his residence by Sgt. Hornbeck of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr
10 at 1:00 am.
Larry Clark Shaffer, age 41, 836 Pike Street,
Marietta, for carrying a concealed weapon and for disorderly
conduct by intoxication, both misdemeanors. Shaffer was arrested
on Pike Street by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
30 Apr 10 at 1:45 am.
Frederick Gale McKitrick, age 28, 740 Greene
Street, Newport, for contempt of a court order and for five
counts of receiving stolen property, all misdemeanors. McKitrick
was arrested on County Nine Road by Sgt. Norman of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Apr 10 at 12:32 pm.
Tina Marie Sims, age 46, 11870 Veto Road, Marietta,
for theft and for violating the terms of her probation, both
misdemeanors. Sims was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff
Lockhart and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30
Apr 10 at 1:22 pm.
