Archive of 04-07-10

On 7 Apr 10 the Warren Volunteer Fire Department transported Michael E. Thompson, age 25, 9550 State Route 550, Vincent, to Marietta Memorial Hospital following an ATV accident on his property. Interviewed at the hospital, Mr. Thompson stated he lost control of the ATV while turning and struck his neck and throat on the handlebar. Emergency room personnel were conducting further tests determined Mr. Thompson’s injuries were not life threatening (712).

On 7 Apr 10 Deputy Sheriff Holbert issued a citation to Curtis M. Benson, age 18, 4665 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, for not stopping for a stopped school bus on Railroad Street in Belpre the previous afternoon. The bus’ driver reported that young children were exiting the bus when Mr. Benson passed the bus on the right side by driving into the grass. Questioned regarding his actions, Mr. Benson stated he was upset about several things and didn’t think passing the school bus was a problem.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Gary Lee Losey II, age 28, 818 Lancaster Street, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Losey turned himself in to Corrections Officer Farrell and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Apr 10 at 10:22 am.

Ronald Edward Jarvis, age 32, 422 Poplar Avenue, Williamstown, for theft and for possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Jarvis was arrested at CVS by Patrolman Caldwell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Apr 10 at 4:55 pm.
