On 30 Mar 10 a member of the New Matamoras
Fire Department, 800 Grandview Avenue, New Matamoras, reported
an unknown suspect(s) entered the department’s storage
building sometime between 26 Mar and 30 Mar and stole approximately
2,200 feet of electrical wire. This case remains under investigation
(208).
On 30 Mar 10 Sgt. Thorpe was on patrol on Collins
Road in Little Hocking when he encountered an abandoned GMC
1500 along the roadway. A check of the vehicle’s VIN revealed
the vehicle was reported stolen by a Marietta resident on 29
Mar 10. Sgt. Thorpe arranged for the truck to be towed its owner’s
residence and forwarded evidence he recovered to the Marietta
City Police Department for further investigation.
On 30 Mar 10 Sgt. Norman responded to a report
of a two year old female roaming the streets near Lowell Elementary
School. After unsuccessfully attempting to locate the girl’s
mother at her residence Sgt. Norman contacted the roommate of
the girl’s mother and received permission to enter the
home. Along with a caseworker from Children’s Services,
Sgt. Norman entered the residence and discovered the toddler’s
mother asleep in an upstairs bedroom. Children’s Services
has an open case involving the two year old and her sibling
and both children are in the process of being removed from the
mother’s custody.
On 30 Mar 10 Tim Mackey, age 29, 1247 Sealy
Ridge Road, Vincent, reported being involved in a domestic dispute.
Interviewed by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart, Mr. Mackey stated he
was upset because his live-in girlfriend was being loud while
he was trying to sleep and he wanted for her to “have
a little more respect for the working man” while he was
trying to sleep. Unable to find evidence of any crime, Deputy
Lockhart closed this case as unfounded.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Elizabeth Dawn Thompson, age 24, 914 Naish
Avenue Apt. 65, Williamstown, for a felony charge of trafficking
in drugs and for a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official
business. Thompson was arrested at the Super 8 Motel by Patrolman
Nohe of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 10 at 5:07 am.
Justin Allen Harris, age 28, 703 Ninth Street,
Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Harris was arrested at the Super
8 Motel by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 10 at
5:33 am.
Tee El Dodd, age 22, Route 2 Box 175, Clarksburg,
WV, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia,
driving under a suspended license, giving false information
to avoid a ticket and for failure to obey a traffic control
device, all misdemeanors. Dodd was arrested on State Route 7
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Mar 10 at 5:53 am.
Jeremiah Isiah Reams, age 26, 809 Warren Avenue,
Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Reams was arrested at his residence
by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Mar 10 at 10:30 am.
Mitchell Dean Needs, age 30, 2360 State Route
266, Stockport, for violating the terms of his probation, a
felony. Needs was picked up at SEPTA by Deputy Sheriff Malone
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 10 at
5:13 pm.
Jason Aaron Berecz, age 35, PO Box 120, Lebanon,
OH, for attempted murder, a felony. Berecz was picked up at
the Lebanon Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff Malone
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 10 at
5:22 pm.
William Joseph Carter Sr., age 25, 52 S. Villa
Road, Parkersburg, for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Carter was arrested
on Franklin Street by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 30 Mar 10 at 5:40 pm.
Kirk Alan Mason, age 22, 704 Elm Street Apt.
1, Belpre, for driving under a suspended license and for failure
to obey a traffic control device, both misdemeanors. Mason was
arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 30 Mar 10 at 7:16 pm.
Orval Eugene Bradfield, age 45, 1308 Williamson
Avenue Apt. 4D, New Matamoras, a fugitive from justice, a felony.
Bradfield was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Mayle
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 10 at
9:20 pm.
Aaron Matthew Brown, age 28, 1012 Phillips
Street, Marietta, for criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct
by intoxication and for being in possession of an open container
of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Brown was arrested at Bob Evans
on Franklin Street by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 30 Mar 10 at 10:15 pm.
