On 28 Mar 10 Bessie Schofield, age 68, 309 Simpson Street, Marietta, reported forty-nine Oxycodone pills were stolen from her residence at some point during the past few days. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 28 Mar 10 Sara Thomas, age 23, 620 Sparks Ridge Road, New Matamoras, reported she was assaulted by another female at the Grandview Tavern that morning. Ms. Thomas said her assailant followed her around the bar that evening, repeatedly asked her about genital warts and ignored her numerous requests to leave her alone. Finally fed up with Ms. Thomas’ refusal to answer her, the assailant reportedly knocked Ms. Thomas the floor and struck her in the face a number of times. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 28 Mar 10 Deputy Sheriff Simmons investigated a report of domestic violence at 1208 Park Avenue Apt. 12D, New Matamoras. At the residence Deputy Simmons observed the alleged victim Melissa J. Beagle, age 27, with swelling and bruising around her right eye. Asked about her injury, Ms. Beagle replied that she slipped on clothing, fell down a flight of stairs and struck her face on a toolbox. Ms. Beagle’s live-in boyfriend relayed the same story, stating that he heard Ms. Beagle fall and discovered her at the bottom of the stairs crying. Unable to find evidence of a criminal act, Deputy Simmons closed this case as unfounded.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Lionel Justin Gore, age 22, 130 Cemetery Road, New Matamoras, for failure to appear, a felony. Gore was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff McLeish and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 10 at 2:50 am.

Michael James Farnsworth, age 21, 276 Ridgewood Court Apt. H, Marietta, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and for misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business and providing alcohol to an underage individual. Farnsworth was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 10 at 4:09 am.

Christopher Allen Peyton, age 20, 21820 State Route 60, Beverly, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and for a misdemeanor charge of underage consumption of alcohol. Peyton was arrested at Ridgewood Court Apartments by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 10 at 4:09 am.

William Jeremy Butcher, age 32, 414 ½ Walnut Street, Belpre, for assault and for unlawful restraint, both misdemeanors. Butcher was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Jobes of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 10 at 7:16 pm.
