On 25 Mar 10 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks responded
to the scene of death of an eighty-nine year old Belpre resident.
The woman’s death appears to be due to natural causes;
no foul play is suspected.
On 25 Mar 10 the vice principal at Warren High
School reported a student informed him that another student
offered to sell him Xanax and marijuana. Asked to empty his
pockets in the vice principal’s office, the sixteen year
old Little Hocking resident removed a plastic bags containing
four orange pills and a small quantity of marijuana. Later questioned
by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart, the teenager refused to divulge
where or from whom he obtained the contraband. To conclude this
case, Deputy Lockhart requested a summons for the teenager to
appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by possession
of drugs.
TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED
FOR COCAINE TRAFFICKING
Two suspects were recently arrested by Agents
of the Major Crimes Task Force on charges of trafficking in
cocaine. Arrested yesterday on a third degree felony charge
of trafficking in drugs, Rennelle B. McKitrick, age 27, 243
Muskingum Drive, Marietta, sold a confidential informant 13.99
grams of cocaine for $700 on 28 Jul 09. Approximately a month
later, on 24 Aug 09, Travis J. Church, age 30, 138 Betsy Lane,
Belpre, sold a confidential informant 5.51 grams of cocaine
for $300. Church was already incarcerated after being sentenced
for an OVI offense and served with a fourth degree felony charge
of trafficking in drugs this morning. The McKitrick and Church
cases are unrelated but are part of local law enforcement’s
efforts in the war on drugs.

Office received the following warrants:
Brandon M. Marino, age 23, 3060 Marshall Road,
Cincinnati, for rape and burglary committed on the campus of
Marietta College on 28 Feb 09.
Scott A. Shankland, age 40, 10 Browns Road Apt. 9B, Marietta,
for making false statements to an officer on 24 Feb 10.
Christopher L. Smith, age 43, 222 Fifth Street, Beverly, for
the theft of tools from a Beverly resident on 2 Mar 10.
Nathan S. Tewkesbury, age 25, 521 Barclay Street Lot 15, Belpre,
for violating the terms of his probation by being charged with
trespassing on 22 Mar 10.
Robert L. Lohr, age 18, 817 Grandview Avenue, New Matamoras,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $260.
Michael S. McCoy, age 39, 1250 Finkle Hill Road, Beverly,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $692.90.
Suzanne S. Selsor, age 56, 2020 Bear Run Road, Reno, for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the
sum of $195.
Travis L. Cunningham, age 25, 9550 State Route
550, Vincent, for failing to appear to serve three days in jail
on 11 Mar 10.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Sunshine Louise Farnsworth, age 25, 832 Saint Marys Avenue,
Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor.
Farnsworth was arrested at the Locker Room by Probation Officer
Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on
25 Mar 10 at 1:30 am.
Michael Alberto Munoz, age 21, 612 Ninth Street,
Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Munoz was arrested at the Locker Room by Patrolman Chapman of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 25 Mar 10 at 2:45 am.
Andrew Michael Russell, age 24, 306 Colegate
Drive, Marietta, for obstructing official business and for failure
to appear, both misdemeanors. Russell was arrested at Colonial
Terrace by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Mar 10 at
12:09 pm.
John Eugene Anderson, age 28, Millers Lane,
Marietta, a fugitive from justice, a felony. Anderson was arrested
on Sixth Street by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
25 Mar 10 at 2:59 pm.
