On 21 Mar 10 a seventy-two year old with Alzheimer’s
waded into the Ohio River behind her Belpre home and was rescued
by her husband. The victim suffered no injuries but the Little
Hocking Fire Department transported the victim to Saint Joseph’s
Hospital as a precaution (707).
On 21 Mar 10 Rachel Campbell, age 25, 32 Anderson
Lane, Waterford, phoned 911 during an argument with her husband.
When Deputy Sheriff Lockhart arrived, Mrs. Campbell refused
to cooperate and stated she phoned for help because she lost
her temper and wanted her husband to leave the residence. Permitted
to enter and inspect the residence, Deputy Lockhart found no
evidence of a struggle or items indicative of domestic violence.
Therefore, Deputy Lockhart closed this case as unfounded.
On 21 Mar 10 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart responded
to a residence in Belpre where a twenty-two year old ingested
an overdose of Darvan he stole from the home’s resident.
The victim was transported by his friends to Saint Joseph’s
Hospital and admitted to the Behavioral Health Unit.
On 21 Mar 10 Alisa L. Clark, age 37, 300 Starlite
Drive Lot 40, Marietta, reported she argued with her estranged
husband over a variety of issues and he became extremely angry
when he could not find his wallet. Mrs. Clark stated she did
not want the disagreement to escalate and was afraid her husband
would destroy items in the house so she phoned for help. Based
on the statements of the two parties, Deputy Sheriff Mayle
closed this case as unfounded.
On 21 Mar 10 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested
a summons for Howard N. Derenberger, age 31, 1490 Braun Road,
Belpre, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Stopping Mr. Derenberger for having an expired registration
on State Route 7, Deputy Smeeks’ canine indicated the
presence of drugs in the vehicle. A search of Mr. Derenberger’s
truck resulted in the seizure of a marijuana pipe freshly packed
with unburnt marijuana.
The following individual
was processed into the Washington County Jail:
Corey Lee Smearman, age 21, 111 Montgomery Street Lot 10,
Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Smearman was arrested on Front Street by Patrolman Chapman
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 10 at 1:13 am.
