On 20 Mar 10 James Stacy, age 57, 285 Stacy
Orchard Road, Marietta, reported at some point during the past
four months an unknown suspect(s) damaged one of the three
oil wells on his property. Mr. Stacy stated the vandal(s) caused
approximately $1,000 in damage to a regulator, fittings and
the shut off drip. This case remains under investigation (707).
On 20 Mar 10 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested
summonses for Tiffany L. Ault, age 22, 205 Sacra Via, Marietta,
for possession of drug paraphernalia and for Matthew E. Burfield,
age 24, 121 Groves Avenue, Marietta, for possession of drugs
and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Ault was driving
a vehicle Deputy Smeeks stopped on State Route 550 for driving
outside the marked lanes of travel. Smelling an odor of burnt
marijuana, Deputy Smeeks deployed his canine for an exterior
sniff of the vehicle. Following a canine indication for the
presence of drugs Deputy Smeeks patted down Mr. Burfield for
weapons. Questioned about an object in his pocket, Mr. Burfield
revealed a bag of marijuana and a marijuana pipe. A subsequent
search of Ms. Ault’s vehicle yielded a marijuana pipe
Ms. Ault admitted belonged to her.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Todd McVey Handley, age 45, 116 Brentwood Heights, Parkersburg,
for OVI, operating a vehicle with an expired license, for failing
to obey the right of way and for operating a vehicle with expired
registration, all misdemeanors. Handley was arrested near the
intersection of Front and Greene streets by Patrolman Arbaugh
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 20 Mar 10 at 12:40 am.
Medinilla Gael Juan, age 23, Beverly, for a felony charge
of escape and for a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespassing.
Juan was arrested on Putnam Street by Patrolman Chapman of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 20 Mar 10 at 5:59 am.
Christopher Edward Danitz, age 19, 914 Cross Street, Dover,
OH, for possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and for
not wearing a seatbelt, all misdemeanors. Danitz was arrested
on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Mar 10 at 6:30 pm.
James Patrick Summers, age 18, 2645 Timberlake Drive, Cosby,
TN, for driving under an FRA suspended license, underage consumption
of alcohol, aggravated menacing, carrying a concealed weapon
and for obstructing official business, all misdemeanors. Summers
was arrested on Cisler Lane by Patrolman Nohe of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 20 Mar 10 at 9:10 pm.
