On 8 Mar 10 a trustee for the Marietta Motorcycle
Club, 234 Angle Road, Waterford, reported he found trash on
the club’s property the previous day and discovered several
articles containing identifiable information. Deputy Sheriff
Simmons contacted the person whose name was on several pieces
of paper and she stated that she was not responsible for dumping
the rubbish but she would pick up the trash.
On 8 Mar 10 a forty-three year old Marietta
resident reported the father of her granddaughter harassingly
phoned her home more than two dozen times as he attempted to
contact the mother of the child. The victim stated when the
suspect dropped off supplies at her home for his daughter he
pounded on her door and yelled the name of his daughter’s
mother. This case remains under investigation (200).
On 8 Mar 10 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes responded
to a report of a driver operating recklessly while traveling
eastbound on US 50. Locating the vehicle, Deputy Rhodes observed
the truck traveling 90 mph in a 60 mph zone and that the vehicle
was weaving in and out of its lane of travel. Deputy Rhodes
identified the driver as Amber R. Landis, age 29, 1805 Becksknob
Road, Lancaster, and immediately detected an odor of alcohol.
Ms. Landis admitted consuming alcohol with her lunch while
in Athens and stated she did not feel she was a safe driver.
A check of Ms. Landis revealed her driver’s license was
suspended and that the individual in the truck had a protection
order against her. Following her poor performance on field
sobriety tests, Ms. Landis was arrested for OVI, driving under
a suspended license and violating a protection order and transported
to the Washington County Jail. At the jail Ms. Landis refused
to submit to a BAC test.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Robert Leon Nolan Jr., age 33, 1615 Turkey
Hollow Road, Cutler, for OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors.
Nolan was arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Mar 10 at
4:20 am.
Trisha Marie Rohrer, age 27, 43425 Hohman
Road, Caldwell, for violating the terms of her probation, a
felony. Rohrer was picked up at the Noble County Jail by Deputy
Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 8 Mar 10 at 10:36 am.
Jesse Scott Books, age 27, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta, for
a felony and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear. Books
was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 8 Mar 10 at 1:36 pm.
Terry Allan Church, age 38, HC 67 Box 57, Hundred, WV, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Church
turned himself in at the courthouse to Deputy Sheriff Malone
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Mar 10 at
3:30 pm.
Keith James Lowe, age 20, 1990 State Route 339, Belpre, for
unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony. Lowe was picked
up at the North Central Correctional Institution by Deputy
Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 8 Mar 10 at 4:16 pm.
Amber Rae Landis, age 30, 1805 Becksknob Road, Lancaster,
for OVI, driving under a suspended license and for violating
the terms of a protection order, all misdemeanors. Landis was
arrested on US 50 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 8 Mar 10 at 7:04 pm.
