On 7 Mar 10 Barbara Beebe, age 55, 21197 State
Route 676, Marietta, reported sometime overnight an unknown
suspect(s) shot a BB through her front screen door which then
shattered a pane of glass on her home door. In a similar incident,
Harriette Murphy, age 65, 20 Silver Globe Road, Marietta, reported
on 4 Mar she discovered a small hole in one pane of bay window
on the front of her home and noticed a small copper BB between
the two panes of glass. These cases remain under investigation
(208).
On 7 Mar 10 Ernest Goins, age 56, 26401 State
Route 26, New Matamoras, reported his wife awoke him around
10 am after noticed the home filling up with smoke. Though
Mr. Goins and his grandson appeared to extinguish the fire
from outside the home, the Little Muskingum Fire Department
responded and ensure the flames were doused. No injuries were
reported as a result of the fire that looks to be electrical
in nature.
On 7 Mar 10 Jonathan Ruth, age 20, 1630 Braun
Road, Belpre, reported being involved in an altercation with
his seventeen year old brother. During a disagreement over
a missing video game Mr. Ruth said his brother tackled him
and dislocated his shoulder. Mr. Ruth was transported to Saint
Joseph’s Hospital for treatment to his injuries. Citing
a memorandum from the Prosecutor’s Office, Deputy Smeeks
did not file charges in the matter because it was a dispute
between siblings. However, the teenager’s probation officer
stated she would address the incident during her next meeting
with the juvenile.
On 7 Mar 10 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a
citation to Tamela V. Ward, 1722 Washington Boulevard, Belpre,
for driving under an OVI suspended license. Deputy Smeeks stopped
Ms. Ward for having an expired temporary tag on State Route
7 near Drag Strip Road in Belpre Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jon Ernest Hjelm, age 22, 628 Second Street, Marietta, for
disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Hjelm was
arrested at the Four Seasons by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 7 Mar 10 at 12:09 am.
Robert Edward Blankensop, age 28, 810 Seneca Drive, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Blankensop
was arrested at the Townhouse by Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Mar 10 at
1:06 am.
Lionel Justin Gore, age 22, 130 Cemetery Road, New Matamoras,
for a felony charge of trafficking in drugs and for a misdemeanor
charge of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines. Gore was arrested on Jones Hill Road in New Matamoras
by Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 7 Mar 10 at 5:45 pm.
