On 16 Feb 09 an employee of Oopsa Daisy Florist,
38780 State Route 7, Newport, reported a customer wrote the
business a check for $175.45 on 12 Nov 09 and the check was
later returned for nonsufficient funds. This case remains under
investigation (8411).
On 16 Feb 10 a caretaker for the property
of Bernard Raugh, age 74, 234 Clifton Road, Little Hocking,
reported two individuals entered Mr. Raugh’s property
without permission and took photographs of calves that died
following a recent bout of pneumonia. This case remains under
investigation (1104).
On 16 Feb 10 Deputy Sheriff Reeder requested
a summons for a fourteen year old Vincent resident to appear
in Juvenile Court for being unruly. The teenager’s grandfather
reported the juvenile is disrespectful, would not go to her
room when ordered to do so and also unleashed a barrage of
foul language at her grandmother.
On 16 Feb 10 Brent J. Wood, age 37, 25 Upper
Fifteenmile Creek Road, Wingett Run, reported at some point
during the past twelve hours an unknown suspect(s) entered
his unlocked home, broke the glass on a gun cabinet and stole
eight long guns and three handguns. Also stolen from a bedroom
in the home were a comforter and a jewelry box containing numerous
earrings, necklaces and silver dollars. This case remains under
investigation (712).
On 16 Feb 10 Randal Baker, age 51, 23640 State
Route 339, Beverly, reported a passing motorist awoke him at
4:30 am and informed him a barn on his property was on fire.
Responding along with his fire department, the Beverly fire
chief indicated the barn and its contents are a total loss
and the cause of the fire appears to be accidental (707).
On 16 Feb 10 Roger Brister, age 37, 214 Sixth
Street, Beverly, reported he was walking along Fifth Street
in Beverly when one of a group of two individuals attacked
him. Mr. Brister said he was knocked to the ground, lost his
glasses and suffered cuts and scratches to his face. This case
remains under investigation (208).
On 16 Feb 10 Donna Paredes, age 39, 1308 Williamson
Avenue Apt. 1C, New Matamoras, reported sometime between 5
pm on 15 Feb and 4 am on 16 Feb an unknown suspect(s) forcibly
entered her apartment and stole three Xbox 360s, twenty-two
Xbox games, two Xbox guitars, five controllers and four Nintendo
DS games. This case remains under investigation (500, 809).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
James Rusty Wallace, age 24, 891 Big Run Road,
Williamstown, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Wallace was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 10
at 10:26 am.
John William Gray Jr., age 49, 50 Railroad Street Apt. A,
Whipple, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Gray was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 10
at 10:35 am.
Jason Ian Dunn, age 24, 103 Scammel Street, Marietta, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Dunn was
arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 10 at 12:29
pm.
Benjamin Denver Sewell, age 37, PO Box 5500, Chillicothe,
for rape, a felony. Sewell was picked up at the Chillicothe
Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 10 at 2:29
pm.
Derrik Ryan McGee, age 26, 610 Montgomery Street, Marietta,
for trafficking in drugs, a felony. McGee was arrested on Montgomery
Street in Marietta by Detective Schuck of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 16 Feb 10 at 4:35 pm.
Erika Dawn Ghee, age 30, 605 Dana Road, Newport, for possession
of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Ghee was arrested on
Marion Street by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
16 Feb 10 at 6:29 pm.
Darin Shawn Miller, age 33, 105 Saint Clair Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Miller was arrested on Barclay Street
by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 10
at 11:52 pm.
