On 26 Jan 10 Kristi L. Dutton, age 34, 275
Goose Run Road, Marietta, reported her sixteen year old daughter
lied about spending the night with a friend on 24 Jan and instead
parked her 2001 Chevy Malibu at Devol’s Dam and stayed
with other friends in Devola. Ms. Dutton stated when her daughter
returned to the vehicle it appeared to have been wrecked, mud
was caked around the vehicle and items inside the vehicle were
strewn about the interior. Preliminary interviews conducted
by Deputy Sheriff Mankins indicate the individual responsible
is the teenager who resides at the home Ms. Dutton’s
daughter visited. The suspect reportedly took $40 cash and
the keys from Ms. Dutton’s daughter’s purse, spent
the money and joyrided through Devola, damaging a number of
yards. This case remains under investigation.
On 26 Jan 10 Deputy Sheriff Mankins charged
Jerry L. Dismukes, age 38, 7633 Stahlin Street, Detroit, MI,
with a fifth degree felony charge of assault. At the Washington
County Jail around 7:25 pm, Corrections Officer Reeder was
handing out towels when Mr. Dismukes, an inmate at the jail,
took a second towel. Mr. Dismukes refused twice to return the
extra towel and when CO Reeder asked him to step back, the
inmate took it as an invitation to fight, stating “let’s
do this then.” At that point, Mr. Dismukes grabbed CO
Reeder’s uniform and shoved him up onto a sink. A brief
struggle followed and CO Reeder broke free. CO Reeder suffered
minor scratches to his face and arms but was otherwise uninjured.
