On 25 Jan 10 Rodger G. Sparks, age 58, 55
Seevers Road, Newport, reported sometime between 22 Jan and
25 Jan an unknown suspect(s) broke the doors off buildings
on his property at 530 Sparks Ridge Road in Newport. From the
buildings, Mr. Sparks believes the suspect(s) stole three propane
stoves, three rolls of barbed wire, a travel trunk, scrap copper
and various old tools. This case remains under investigation
(1184).
On 25 Jan 10 Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck responded
to the scene of death of a sixty-nine year old Belpre resident.
The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes;
no foul play is suspected.
CONVICTED DRUG TRAFFICKER ARRESTED ON DRUG
CHARGES
Edward Minke, age 42, 3790 Bells Run Road, Newport, was arrested
on a third degree felony charge of trafficking in Oxycontin
following the execution of a search warrant at his residence
by Agents of the Major Crimes Task Force. Previously convicted
of trafficking and subsequently serving fifteen months in prison,
Minke has been under investigation since August 2009. A target
who is allegedly engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity,
Minke has sold confidential informants various quantities of
cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs on a number of occasions.
Today’s search warrant of Minke’s residence yielded
$1,518 in cash, marijuana, prescription pill bottles, plastic
baggies containing pills, drug paraphernalia, Oxycontin pills
and cocaine.
Though Minke was arrested on a single charge of selling an
undercover operative ten, eighty milligram Oxycontin pills
on 29 Nov 09, additional evidence, including that supporting
a pattern of corrupt activity charge and five other drug trafficking
charges will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office
for grand jury consideration.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Olivia Lane Stanley, age 19, 3310 Williams Avenue, Belle,
WV, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Stanley turned herself
in to Lt. Gherke at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Jan
10 at 1:00 am.
Maurice Grant Heslep, age 29, 2504 13th Avenue, Vienna, for
felony charges of forgery and receiving stolen property and
for a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear. Heslep turned
himself in to Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 25 Jan 10 at 8:45 am.
Tejai Edvin Conner, age 18, 1175 Michaelis
Road, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Conner turned himself in to
Deputy Sheriff Sheaves and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 25 Jan 10 at 11:10 am.
Edward Albert Minke, age 42, 3790 Bells Run Road, Newport,
for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Minke was arrested at his
residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 25 Jan 10 at 2:00 pm.
Frances Margaret Lambert, age 51, 6784 State Route 339, Vincent,
for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Lambert
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Ferrell and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Jan 10 at 6:36
pm.
Sharon Jean Schoolcraft, age 35, 1114 Walsh Road, Vincent,
for failure to appear and for passing bad checks, both misdemeanors.
Schoolcraft was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff
Anderson and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25
Jan 10 at 9:26 pm.
Danielle Sylvia White, age 28, 803 Third Street, New Brighton,
PA, for OVI, for operating a vehicle with an expired license
and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors.
White was arrested near milepost sixteen on State Route 550
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 25 Jan 10 at 11:40 pm.
