On 19 Jan 10 the owner of the Alan Stone Company,
5025 Williams Highway, Williamstown, reported prior to being
laid off an employee obtained a company credit card without
her approval. The owner stated among other charges, the former
employee utilized the credit card to amass $268 in charges
at the Pit Stop on State Route 821 in Marietta. This case remains
under investigation (707).
On 19 Jan 10 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
Brent W. Bailey, age 25, 708 Clement Avenue, Belpre, for .08
breath OVI. Stopped on Franklin Street in Marietta for having
only one functioning headlight, Mr. Bailey had an odor of alcohol
and admitted drinking earlier in the evening. Following his
poor performance on field sobriety tests, Mr. Bailey was transported
to the Washington County Jail. At the jail Mr. Bailey tested
.114 BAC. Also arrested as a result of the stop was Kylie L.
Smith, age 20, 103 Merryhill Street, Marietta. Deputy Smeeks’ canine
indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle, prompting a
search of the passenger compartment. During the resulting search
Deputy Smeeks discovered a bag of marijuana and two marijuana
pipes in Ms. Smith’s purse. Ms. Smith is charged with
possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and
is being held in jail on a probation violation.
On 19 Jan 10 Tiffany Fouty, age 28, 640 Lang
Farm Road, Marietta, reported a former family member may have
forged her signature on an insurance company release form.
This case remains under investigation (208).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Darla Lynn Tom, age 40, 115 King Street, Zanesville,
for three misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Tom turned
herself in to Corrections Officer Farrell and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jan 10 at 3:58 am.
Chad William Richard Warner, age 24, 260 Greenbrier
Circle, Marietta, for theft, a felony. Warner was arrested
at the Sheriff’s Office by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jan 10 at 12:26
pm.
Luke Archibald Allen, age 28, 726 ½ Third Street, Marietta,
for a felony charge of aggravated burglary and for a misdemeanor
charge of assault. Allen was arrested at 729 Front Street by
Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jan 10 at 3:05
pm.
Karen Louise Brugger, age 57, 108 Colonial Square Apt. D,
Belpre, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor.
Brugger was arrested at her residence by Probation Officer
Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19
Jan 10 at 3:12 pm.
Tyler John Taulbee, age 18, 14078 State Route 664 South, Logan,
OH, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Taulbee was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jan 10
at 3:35 pm.
Sterling Houston Roberts, age 26, 154 Dover Street, Dayton,
for nonsupport of dependants, a felony. Roberts was picked
up at the Dayton Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff
Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on
19 Jan 10 at 5:05 pm.
David Lee Guiler II, age 30, 16501 State Route 821, Macksburg,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Guiler
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jan 10
at 5:24 pm.
Phillip Zachariah Singer, age 20, 18 Hanover Road, Cutler,
for breach of recognizance and for criminal trespassing, both
misdemeanors. Singer was arrested at his residence by Deputy
Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 19 Jan 10 at 10:44 pm.
