On 13 Jan 10 a resident on County Nine Road
reported a vehicle became stuck in her driveway and when the
driver knocked on her door to ask for assistance she noticed
the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or
drugs. Responding to the scene, Deputy Sheriff Mayle located
the driver, Alex C. Lee, age 20, 272 Second Avenue, Gallipolis,
who was behaving erratically and speaking very quickly. Ms.
Lee, whose pupils were constricted and who could not stand
still, initially gave two false names and could not recall
what day or what time it was. Ms. Lee denied consuming any
drugs, stating she drank two shots of vodka prior to leaving
a friend’s home for work. However, Ms. Lee later admitted
her friend gave her a white pill and a pink pill and that she
consumed those along with the two shots of vodka. Placed in
the back of Deputy Mayle’s patrol car, Ms. Lee became
irate and started banging her head on the divider in the cruiser.
Sprayed with OC spray, Ms. Lee stopped hitting her head. Following
Ms. Lee’s arrest, Deputy Mayle searched her vehicle and
discovered two pills that were later identified as Adderall.
Charged with OVI, driving under a suspended license and possession
of drugs, Ms. Lee was cleared medically at the hospital and
transported to the Washington County Jail.
