On 8 Jan 10 Deputy Sheriff Carr requested summonses for five juveniles to appear in Juvenile Court on charges of delinquency by criminal damaging. The teenagers, three males and two females, reportedly damaged the Belpre Township park behind Little Hocking Elementary School on 6 Jan 10 by repeatedly pulling each other on a sled with an ATV. In using the ATV, the juveniles left numerous ruts in the park’s grass.

On 8 Jan 10 Mina L. Boyles, age 78, 606 Chamberlain Drive, Marietta, reported sometime between midnight and 8:45 am an unknown suspect(s) knocked over a concrete deer statue in her yard, breaking an antler on the $175 lawn ornament. This case remains under investigation (594).

On 8 Jan 10 Nathan H. Cooper, age 30, 4825 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell, reported he and his wife were dropping off their eighteen month old child off at his mother in law’s residence when his mother in law, Donna Shimer, age 40, 8775 State Route 821, Lower Salem, punched him. Mr. Cooper stated an argument erupted after a friend of Ms. Shimer used foul language in the presence of his child. Angered by Mr. Cooper’s comment that she had one of the worst reputations of anyone he knew, Ms. Shimer punched Mr. Cooper in the nose. Mr. Cooper said he then had to restrain Ms. Shimer on the kitchen floor to avoid being attacked further. Though Ms. Shimer claims she punched Mr. Cooper because he approached her in a threatening manner, witnesses stated Mr. Cooper was leaning against a wall and did not threaten Ms. Shimer in any way. As a result of the incident, Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested a summons for Ms. Shimer for assault.

Gretchen M. Graham, age 56, 1921 Seventh Street, Parkersburg, for failing to appear in court for a hearing on 4 Jan 10.

Frankie Harriman, age 45, 27277 Frostyville Road, Lower Salem, for failing to appear for a Debtor’s Exam.

Michael Lucas, age 41, 5079 Oak Hill Road, Stockport, for stealing, forging and uttering preprinted checks on 27 Nov 09.

Paul T. Willey, age 27, 723 South Eighth Street, Cambridge, for failing to appear to serve twenty-nine days in jail on 1 Jan 10.

John B. Antill, age 32, 1817 Cameron Avenue, Parkersburg, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 28 Dec 09.

Jesse Widener, age 27, 3977 Mayfair Road Apt. 107, Uniontown, OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 28 Dec 09.
