On 6 Jan 10 Alice Keeler, age 47, 101 Evans
Street Apt. B15, New Matamoras, reported on 4 Jan she allowed
two young male acquaintances to enter her home after they requested
to let them in out of the cold for a few minutes. Ms. Keeler
said after the two individual left abruptly she noticed $100
was missing from under a book on a table. This case remains
under investigation (308).
On 6 Jan 10 the New Matamoras Fire Department
transported a forty-nine year old Leith Run Road resident to
Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment for an overdose on
the anti-anxiety drug Xanax. Found unconscious on the floor
by his wife, the victim was only responsive to painful stimuli
when he arrived at the hospital. Upon completion of treatment,
the emergency room physician stated the victim would be fine.
On 6 Jan 10 a Belpre Township trustee reported
finding what appeared to be numerous ruts from ATV tires in
the grass and snow at the township park behind Little Hocking
Elementary School. The trustee followed the tracks to a nearby
home and discovered two dirt bikes and an ATV parked outside
the residence. Deputy Sheriff Carr interviewed a seventeen
year old resident of the home who admitted that he and several
friends caused the damage. The teenager stated he and his friends
took turns pulling each other on a sled with ATVs. Charges
in this case may be filed at a later date.
On 6 Jan 10 Deputy Sheriff Sheaves and the
Fearing Township Fire Department responded to a small fire
at the residence of David Spindler, age 63, 1155 Pleasant Ridge
Road, Marietta. Causing approximately $1,200 in damage, the
fire apparently originated when a hot ember from a fireplace
fell between a gap in the fireplace and ignited insulation.
The fire was extinguished without incident and did not cause
any injuries.
On 6 Jan 10 an employee of Washington Electric
Cooperative reported electric services were shut off at a residence
on Rinard Mills Road in New Matamoras on 15 Dec 09 and the
meter was turned so it would not connect to terminals. When
he checked the meter earlier in the morning the employee stated
the meter was reconnected. This case remains under investigation
(308).
On 6 Jan 10 Tiffany Lawell, age 21, 66 Star
Road, Marietta, reported her former live-in boyfriend and father
of her two children assaulted her when he stopped by her house
to drop off diapers. Upset because he believed Ms. Lawell was
seeing someone else, Timothy M. Ryan, age 19, struck Ms. Lawell
several times and ripped off her shirt. Ms. Lawell retaliated
by striking back and ended the attack when she hit Mr. Ryan
with a metal lock box. When Ms. Lawell advanced toward the
phone to call for help, Mr. Ryan ripped the phone from the
wall, damaging the jack. Unable to locate the suspect, Deputy
Sheriff Hornbeck requested warrants for Mr. Ryan for domestic
violence and for disrupting public services.

Demetrius L. Tucker, age 39, 936 Prospect
Avenue, Toledo, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on an order to show cause on 18 Dec 09.
Phillip Z. Singer, age 20, 40 Hanover Road,
Cutler, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear for
arraignment on 18 Dec 09.
David A. Sayres, age 44, 413 Eighth Street,
Parkersburg, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear
for arraignment on 28 Dec 09.
Dennis L. Mummey, age 27, 1758 Point Lookout
Road, Stockport, for issuing a bad check for $145.46 to Sponey’s
IGA on 19 Sep 09.
Justin D. Deems, age 29, 725 1/2 Seventh Street,
Marietta, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear
for arraignment on 23 Dec 09.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
James Harvey Ridgeway, age 44, 1870 Rinard
Mills Road, New Matamoras, for assault, aggravated menacing,
resisting arrest, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct
by intoxication, all misdemeanors. Ridgeway was arrested at
101 Evans Street Apt. C21 by Chief Bourne of the New Matamoras
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 6 Jan 10 at 12:56 am.
William Aaron Abbott Jr., age 38, 2165 Congress
Road, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Abbott was picked up in Franklin County by Deputy Sheriff Underwood
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jan 10 at
3:19 pm.
