On 5 Jan 10 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart performed
a welfare check on a forty-six year old Belpre resident after
the woman reported to dispatchers she was intoxicated and had
ingested several pills. Finding the door open to the Moody
Ridge Road residence, Deputy Lockhart entered the home and
made contact with the complainant. The woman appeared heavily
intoxicated and agitated at Deputy Lockhart’s presence.
Though she denied taking any pills, the victim did agree to
be transported to Saint Joseph’s Hospital for treatment
and evaluation.
On 5 Jan 10 the New Matamoras Fire Department
transported a nineteen year old Williams Avenue resident to
Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment following a suicide
attempt. Responsive and coherent when Deputy Sheriff Caltrider
arrived at her residence, the victim said she consumed a handful
of one a day energy pills and several sleeping pills in an
attempt to get back the boyfriend who recently broke up with
her.
On 5 Jan 10 Nicole D. Efaw, age 23, 29 Mercer
Drive, Waterford, reported she was assaulted by her husband
William, age 23, during an argument over their bills. Mrs.
Efaw stated the disagreement was over the couple pending dissolution
of their marriage and the division of bill payments once she
moves out of the marital home. During the argument Mrs. Efaw
said she was writing on a paper with a marker when her husband
slammed his fist on top her hand, causing the marker to break
and an injury to her hand. Questioned by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks,
Mr. Efaw refuted his wife’s statement, denying that he
struck her hand and instead saying that she simply broke the
marker. Citing the ink on Mrs. Efaw’s hand and her visible
injury, Deputy Smeeks arrested Mr. Efaw for domestic violence
and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

Forrest R. Boone, age 38, 10436 State Route
550, Vincent, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $897.00.
Joshua D. Campbell, age 24, 3750 Buchanan
Road, Waterford, for issuing bad checks Sponey’s IGA
for $30 on 29 Oct 09, for $20 and $70 on 30 Oct 09 and for
$35 and $50 on 31 Oct 09.
William Huddleston, age 20, 2443 E. State
Route 60 NE, McConnelsville, for issuing a bad check to Sponey’s
IGA for $79.42 on 19 Oct 09.
Randy Morris, age 22, 425 Reynolds Lane, McConnelsville,
for trespassing onto the property of the Muskingum Valley Nursing
Home on 10 Nov 09.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brenton Dean Metz, age 25, 119 Kentucky Avenue,
Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Metz was arrested at his residence
by Lt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 10 at
10:54 am.
William Shawn Efaw, age 23, 29 Mercer Drive,
Waterford, for domestic violence, a felony. Efaw was arrested
at his residence by Sgt. Thorpe of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan
10 at 1:45 pm.
Henry Clement Lori Jr., age 48, 710 Front
Street, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a
misdemeanor. Lori was arrested on Barber Street by Patrolman
Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 10 at 8:15 pm.
Brandon Lee Hoffert, age 24, 421 Phillips
Street Apt. 15, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication
and for possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
Hoffert was arrested at 600 B Marietta Lane by Patrolman McClelland
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 10 at 10:30 pm.
