HEROIN
Major Crimes Task Force Agents and Sheriff’s
Deputies last night (30 Dec 09) arrested three individuals
after a traffic stop on Interstate 77. Stopped for a traffic
violation near milepost twelve, a canine sniff indicated the
presence of drugs in a vehicle driven by Steven E. McCabe,
age 50, 840 Pike Street Apt. 25, Marietta. Agents did not locate
drugs during a thorough search of the passenger compartment
but under questioning, the vehicle’s backseat passenger,

admitted having drugs concealed inside her body. Ms. Dailey
later produced twenty-three grams of what Agents believe is
heroin from a body cavity. The heroin, when broken into individual
dosage units, has an approximate street value of $11,500.
Dailey was charged with a second degree felony
count of possession of drugs and transported to the Washington
County Jail. She is being held without bond pending her initial
court appearance this afternoon. McCabe, a previous Task Force
target who was recently released from prison after serving
time for drug trafficking, was arrested for a parole violation
and is being held without bond. McCabe’s wife Jennie,
age 30, was also a passenger in the vehicle and was arrested
for violating her probation. Mrs. McCabe also served a prison
sentence on drug charges and is being held in the Washington
County Jail without bond.
