On 18 Dec 09 Angie Augenstein, age 31, 1174
County House Lane, Marietta, reported sometime between 9 am
and 7 pm an unknown suspect(s) entered her home and stole eight
presents from under her Christmas tree. Ms. Augenstein said
the suspect(s) also played the Nintendo Wii in her living room
and did not disturb other valuables. Ms. Augenstein declined
to pursue the matter further (608).
On 18 Dec 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins requested
a summons for a thirteen year old Reno resident to appear in
Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by phone harassment.
Interviewed after being identified by caller ID, the juvenile
admitted leaving three messages on the home answering machine
of a teacher at Frontier High School on 17 Dec.
On 18 Dec 09 Ben Clovis, age 33, 860 Rhodes
Road, Lowell, reported an unknown suspect(s) intercepted a
new credit card destined for his residence and used the card
to accrue nearly $3,000 in charges. This case remains under
investigation (610).
On 18 Dec 09 an employee of Citizens Bank
reported a Newport resident falsified an affidavit at the Title
Office indicating she lost her vehicle title. In a dispute
over a lien on the vehicle, the suspect allegedly obtained
the new title in an attempt to avoid the repossession of the
vehicle. This case remains under investigation (592).
On 18 Dec 09 the owner of Pioneer City Auto
Parts, 131 Schultheis Lane, Marietta, reported sometime during
the past week an unknown suspect(s) climbed a fence and stole
approximately 2,500 pounds of scrap metal valued at $1,750.
This case remains under investigation (296).
On 18 Dec 09 Christopher Dickerson, age 26,
4017 11th Avenue, Parkersburg, reported he received a collections
notice for $585.45 for satellite service and he believes a
family member in Marietta opened the account without permission
using his personal information. This case remains under investigation
(610).
On 18 Dec 09 the Little Hocking Fire Department
transported a forty-three year old Belpre resident to Camden
Clark Hospital for treatment to superficial cuts on his wrist.
The victim admitted inflicting the wounds on himself and voluntarily
agreed to seek treatment.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Justin Daniel Deems, age 29, 725 ½ Seventh
Street, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a
misdemeanor. Deems was arrested on Putnam Street by Patrolman
Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 09 at 2:49 am.
Richard Dale Lutz, Jr., age 39, 3580 Lightner
Ridge Road, Stockport, for violating the terms of his probation,
a felony. Lutz was arrested on Creek Road in Palmer Township
by Deputy Sheriff Sheaves and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 18 Dec 09 at 2:00 pm.
Fannie Sarah Kovacs, age 29, 4503 Oakwood Avenue, North Charleston,
SC, for failure to appear and for failure to appear at a court
ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Kovacs
was arrested on Grub Road in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Sheaves
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 09
at 3:35 pm.
