On 16 Dec 09 the Wesley Township Fire Department
transported a fifty-eight year old Bartlett resident to Marietta
Memorial Hospital for treatment for a possible drug overdose.
While the victim did appear to be having a reaction to ingesting
too much medication, the emergency room physician said underlying
medical problems also contributed to the victim’s condition.
The victim later regained consciousness and informed Sgt. Thorpe
that he didn’t think he ingested too much medication
and said he had no intention of harming himself.
On 16 Dec 09 Gary Wells, age 41, 24 State
Route 124, Coolville, reported his cousin recently moved out
of his residence after living with him for three months and
when he left he took a set of four tires without permission.
Mr. Wells stated his cousin returned to the residence to retrieve
more of his belongings and when he refused to allow him inside
his cousin shoved him out of the way. Shoved by his cousin
a second time, Mr. Wells said candle wax splashed onto his
sleeve but that he was not injured. Mr. Wells’ cousin
departed after tearing a phone from its plug. Mr. Wells declined
to pursue charges against his cousin for theft and assault,
stating that he wanted his cousin to stay away from his residence
(1293).
On 16 Dec 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
Travis R. Cool, age 30, 515 Main Street, Wadsworth, OH, for
a felony charge of possession of drugs and for two misdemeanor
charges of possession of drugs. A passenger in a vehicle stopped
for having a cracked windshield on Interstate 77, Mr. Cool
was found in possession of twelve Vicodin pills and two Adderall
pills when Deputy Smeeks conducted a pat down of him for weapons.
Following a canine indication for the presence of drugs in
the vehicle, Deputy Smeeks also located a bag containing thirty
grams of marijuana. Mr. Cool admitted the marijuana belonged
to him and stated a friend gave him the Vicodin and that he
takes them for pain.
On 16 Dec 09 Diane Gore, age 42, 130 Cemetery
Drive, New Matamoras, reported a Phillips thirty-two inch flat
screen television was stolen from her residence sometime between
midnight and 6 am. This case remains under investigation (594).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Nathan Kyle Dye, age 23, 4004 Ninth Avenue,
Vienna, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of
travel, both misdemeanors. Dye was arrested in Belpre by the
Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 16 Dec 09 at 2:40 am.
Jackie D. Buffington Jr., age 39, 20 Colegate
Drive, Marietta, for domestic violence and resisting arrest,
both misdemeanors. Buffington was arrested at his residence
by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Dec 09
at 9:45 am.
Travis Richard Cool, age 30, 515 Main Street, Wadsworth, OH,
for a felony charge of possession of drugs and for two misdemeanor
charges of possession of drugs. Cool was arrested near milepost
eleven on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 Dec 09 at 11:35 am.
