On 13 Dec 09 a witness reported two males
in a green pickup truck stopped near the intersection of
State Route 821 and Lindamood Road and threw several items
down an embankment. Deputy Sheriff Holbert responded to the
scene and located two tires, a muffler and miscellaneous
trash. This case remains under investigation.
On 13 Dec 09 Sgt. Thorpe arrested a twelve
year old Marietta resident shortly after the Juvenile ran
away from the Juvenile Center. The juvenile’s unsuccessful
attempt at flight was aided briefly by a bicycle he stole
from a nearby yard. Juvenile Center staff and the Marietta
City Police Department are handling charges in the matter.
On 13 Dec 09 Meriah Dunn, age 19, 1308 Williamson
Avenue Apt. 3A, New Matamoras, reported while she was in
Marietta earlier in the evening an unknown suspect(s) entered
her home and stole a Nintendo Wii, controllers and ten games.
This case remains under investigation (594).
On 13 Dec 09 Sgt. Norman arrested Daniel
E Hendrickson, age 55, 775 Gravel Bank Road, Marietta, for
disorderly conduct by intoxication. Lying along Veto Road,
Mr. Hendrickson had a strong odor of alcohol, could not stand
without assistance and stated he could not remember how he
got to his current location after leaving the Lawnsdale bar.
When transported to the Washington County Jail Mr. Hendrickson
tested .197.
On 13 Dec 09 Chelsea D. Boone, age 20, 645
Stevens Road, Waterford, was traveling northbound on Buchanan
Road when she encountered a patch of ice. Attempting to negotiate
a slight curve, Ms. Boone’s vehicle crossed the centerline
and clipped a vehicle facing north in the opposite lane that
was parked while assisting a disabled vehicle. Ms. Boone’s
vehicle then spun 180 degrees and impacted an embankment
on the southbound side of the roadway. While Ms. Boone’s
Dodge Stratus sustained non-functional damage, the parked
Isuzu four door owned by Melvin Wolfe, age 47, 200 Pennock
Drive Lot 22, Beverly, sustained functional damage. No injuries
were reported (1104).
On 12 Dec 09 Deputy Sheriff Holbert and
the Beverly and Lowell fire departments were dispatched to
a fire at a mobile home owned by Donna M. Dobbins, age 63,
at 1025 Tick Hill Road, Lowell. Ms. Dobbins stated she owns
the residence, her daughter’s family reside there and
they were out of town. Fire officials believe the fire was
accidental and caused by an electrical overload on a computer
wire. The home sustained substantial damage due to the fire
and the water used to extinguish it.
On 13 Dec 09 the Sheriff’s Office
responded to numerous single vehicle crashes related to the
presence of black ice. The details of the crashes are as
follows:
Andrew Strauss, age 24, 3415 Hickman Road, Waterford;
crash occurred near 3851 Buchanan Road, Waterford Township;
1995 Chevy Tahoe towed from scene; no injuries reported
(1104);
Rebecca J. Canavan, age 39, 6020 Sandhill Road, Marietta,
crash occurred near intersection of Cornerville Road and
Valley Drive in Marietta Township; 2009 Hyundai Sonata
towed from scene; Ms. Canavan transported to MMH for neck
and back pain (1104);
Richard L. Lancaster, age 60, 802 Way Road, Belpre; crash
occurred near 1071 Congress Road in Belpre Township; 2003
Kia Sedona towed from scene; no injuries reported (1293);
Tracy A. Augenstein, age 38, 102 Bailey Drive, Marietta;
crash occurred near milepost 9.8 on Waterford Road in Watertown
Township; 2005 Dodge truck driven from scene; no injuries
reported (1293);
Judith I. Reiser, age 57, 920 Caywood Road, Marietta;
crash occurred on Caywood Road .5 miles from State Route
26 in Marietta Township; 2006 Chevy Colorado towed from
scene; no injuries reported (597);
Tony C. Mercer, age 48, 2607 16th Avenue, Parkersburg;
crash occurred near intersection of Rocky Point Road and
Rubrake Road in Barlow Township; 1999 Ford Ranger towed
from scene; no injuries reported (712);
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Casey Lee Hoover, age 23, 723 Fourth Street,
Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Hoover was
arrested on State
Route 7 by Lt. Stackpole of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13
Dec 09 at 1:08 am.
Curtis Allen Shepherd, age 22, 8846 State Route 555, Cutler,
for failure to appear and for failure to appear at a court
ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Shepherd
was arrested in Belpre by Lt. Stackpole of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 13 Dec 09 at 3:10 am.
Daniel Edward Hendrickson, age 55, 775 Gravel Bank Road, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Hendrickson
was arrested on Veto Road by Sgt. Norman of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 13 Dec 09 at 4:43 am.
